BRIDGESTONE TIRES Complaints

On 6/22/22 around 6:30 pm, the front passenger tire blew out. The tire in question came with the vehicle upon purchasing new on 5/14/20. There is currently about 13,300 miles on the car. Luckily my oldest son was driving and was able to maneuver into a safe place and put on the donut spare. Car had to be driven by son today with donut spare on and will take pictures of subject tires when he gets back home.

Bridgestone Turanza EL440BW 235 45R18 94V is original equipment on my 2021 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. Mileage at the time of the incident was 11398. I saw what appeared to be splitting or separation of the lower depth of the tread. No loss of pressure. I brought it to the Toyota Dealer to check. They insisted I must have hit something and would not consider it a manufactures warranty. I replaced the tire out of safety concerns. I do not recall hitting or going over anything. I am attaching photos of the condition. I replaced the one tire with the same make and model but remain concerned that splitting of the tread could be dangerous. And still have 4 like tires on the car.

I was on the highway and could not stop safely. I felt a thump but the road was clear.. I did not see any thing on the road that I could have hit as I exited off the highway

TIRES ARE 235/40 R18 REAR TIRES. This is the second set of these tires that have worn out after about 3500 city/highway road miles. No racing, no drifting, no tire spinning on launch. Porsche dealer replaced both sets as part of CPO process; now I need a third set. Current mileage on the car is 63590; I purchased it in Sept of 2021 with 57K miles. Tire wear is even across the tread; no alignment issues observed. Excessive wear was noted both times by the Discount Tire tech who checked the air in the tires at my request-routine for me. Last time, the tech said the tires were so bad he shouldn't put air in and I should get them replace ASAP. The danger arises from unexpectedly low mileage to complete tread loss and cord appearing without warning with the risk of a blowout at highway speeds on out of town trips. The excessive wear is being discussed in Boxster forums with no recognition that this must be a design or manufacturing defect unique to this model of tire. Please investigate. The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Camry equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Turanza EL440, Tire Size: 235/45/R18, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle was running rough. While adding air to the tires, he noticed that the tires were bald and the tread was low. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where they informed him that the tread was at 4/23. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed about a partial discount. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

My Bridgestone tires were the wrong rated tires put on by Chrysler at 70 miles per hour they would bounce did not matter which one would bounce they all did it after hitting a small bump on the highway they are the dueler 255/70/r18 113t ms with 1 nylon and 2 steel belts in tread and only 2 polyester side wall this was to light of a tire for a light truck , talked to Chrysler and they just blew me off on this problem I purchased light truck tires and solved the problem they now owe me $1095.97 . I am sure they put these tires on other Jeep gladiators.

I purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban on December 6, 2022 equipped with4 Bridgestone Alenza A/S 02 tires sized 275 50R22. On December 21, on my way home I hit a bump. When I got home I could audibly hear air leaking out of the passenger rear tire. I called OnStar who sent a tow truck driver out to put the spare on. We could not find a nail or anything in the tire but there was about a 1.5 inch crack in the sidewall about 1 inch away from the rim with nothing sticking in it. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the tire and they ordered a replacement tire. They said that I could file a complaint with the State Department of Transportation if I wanted. It cost me about $328 to repair. On February 12, around 9:00 pm, I was about an hour and a half away from home about to drive back when the tire sensor light came on saying the passenger rear tire had low air pressure. I pulled into a park and went to look and I again could audibly hear air leaking from the tire. I had not hit any bumps this time, but the tire was completely flat within 20 minutes. When the tow truck driver came to put the spare on, I explained to him what happened previously and that was the second time this had happened within 2 months of purchasing the vehicle. He looked at the tire with me and it had the same tear in the sidewall in the same location as the previous tire. There was no nail or object in the tire, just a 1.5 inch long rigid crack. I noticed that there had been a Bridgestone recall for this type of tire for size 275 55R20 in 2021 because of a pin hole in the sidewall. I believe that my tires are defective.

I came in for a TPSC sensor recall and discovered that both of my rear tires were BALD and my front tires were worn. My brand new car has 23000 miles. I only have had this car for 2 years. Tire size P 225 / 55 R 19

Purchased a new set of 4 in May of 2020 with 50,000 miles on the vehicle - just one year, 8 months ago and only 10k miles on the new set. Walked out yesterday morning and the RR tire was flat. Tried to add air and heard a rushing sound coming from the outside sidewall from a 3-4" broken, jagged slit. The car was driven yesterday and all was fine until it just blew. And no it was not cut by a ne'er do well overnight. The sidewall clearly failed as reported by so many with this Alenza tire. Many others were driving when the dangerous Alenza sidewall failed. I was lucky as we often drive this vehicle on Interstate highways...and it Texas that means 75 and 80 mph speed limits. I shudder to think what would have happened with a failing defected tire blowing at 80 mph!

I had previously owned a 2018 Lexus RX350L that came with OEM Michelin Premier LTX tires. That car handled very well on rain, snow and ice. I eventually replaced those tires with Continental Crosscontact LX25 that were even better to the point that I woud say they were excellent on snow and ice. When I purchased my 2021 Lexus RX350 F Sport, it came with Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tires in 235 / 55 R 20. The Bridgestone tires were more prone to hydroplaning but I was able to adjust driving in wet rainy situations. The Bridgestone tires however are absolutely useless in even the slightest dusting of snow. They are prone to locking the Anti-Lock Brakes at single digit speeds and are resistant to making even slight turns or steering corrections. On the morning of February 6th 2021 I experienced driving in light snow for the first time with new car equipped with the Bridgestone tires. While making a right turn, I noticed that there was a multiple car accident on the road I was entering. As I had only begun to enter the turning lane, I decided to abort that turn. I attempted to ease the car back to the left but it would not correct. At this point, I was at single digit speeds already and I pressed the brakes. The Anti-Lock brakes locked and the car began sliding forward regardless of steering input. I released the brakes but they remained locked which I assume is because the car kept them applied because it was sliding. I slid into a car at the opposite stop light. After the accident, I drove to an empty parking lot and attempted snow driving maneuvers such as stopping slowly and making gentle turns. These tires proved incapable of the slowest, gentlest of maneuvers in a light snow situation. I am attaching both the Review and Ratings from the Tire Rack website which support that these "All Season" tires should likely not see rain and are most definitely dangerous if not deadly on snow and ice.
