DUNLOP TIRES Complaints

I bought this car in 2018, I drive 4 miles per day more or less , I have only 25,486 miles and today during a regular inspection I found that my tires tread are on yellow 6/32", just the front (where I have Front Wheel Drive). Not sure how driving only in town can quickly wear a tire, by the time I pay off this car I will be with an expensive bill for change the tires. I had an used Subaru for 5 years and I never had to change the tires during 5 years, and I drove way more than Toyota, had 89,000 when the gaskets blew off. Not sure why car/tires companies make crap products to make us pay often.

The rear passenger Dunlop Enasave 01 AS 195/65R15 tire on my 2022 AWD model Prius blew while I was driving 50 MPH down a residential highway. I ran over nothing, and the tire tread was completely separated from the rest of the tire and rim.

P225 / 60 R18. Passenger rear tire blew out driving at highway speeds (75-80 mph). The car swerved back and forth across lanes almost into the median and then to the shoulder a couple of times and almost flipped before I was able to pull to the shoulder and stop. Another driver stopped to make sure I was ok and said he also thought I was going to flip more than once. I did not notice any warning lights prior to the incident. There were a couple of times prior to the failure that it felt like the car was swerving slightly - I thought possibly due to wind or different texture of the road surface, then the tire blew. The entire inside wall of the tire is separated from the tread. The dealer has not inspected the tire yet. I am ordering a set of new tires - I don't trust these and never want to go through that again.

I felt the tail end of the Harley begin to lose traction and began to slow to pull off the highway onto the shoulder. The tire separated completely from the rim which cause me to lose all control of the steering. There are multiple instances - including 5 fatalities and 22 injuries on record - of the same Dunlop D402 tire I had on my Harley. No warnings whatsoever.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THERE WAS NO REPORTED FIRE OR POLICE REPORT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 BMW X5 EQUIPPED WITH DUNLOP RUN FLAT TIRES, TIRE LINE: SPORT MAXX SP, TIRE SIZE: 315/35/R20, DOT NUMBER: (UNKNOWN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON THE DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER DUE TO LOW TIRE PRESSURE ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR TIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HER RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OBSERVED THE TIRE AND STATED THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS 27,000. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.

TIRE DOT MBKT JR1R DUNLOP SIZE 215/60R17. THESE TIRES ARE IN MY NEW JEEP RENEGADE THAT I BOUGHT FROM THE DEALER VIN [XXX]. ONE OF THE TIRES EXPLOITED AT 5K MILES AND NOW THE TIRES HAVE ONLY 18000 MILES AND ARE IN BAD SHAPE WITH CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT WIRES ARE SHOWING. I CALLED THE DEALER BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE NOR THE BRAND OWNERS. SO MY LAST OPTION IS TO REPORT THIS ISSUE TO YOU TO INVESTIGATE AND AVOID POSSIBLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE INSECURE TIRES LIKE THIS ONES THAT I AM REPORTING NOW. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR WHEEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAN LEANDRO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT SRT 1444 MARINA BLVD, SAN LEANDRO, CA 94577, TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.

DUNLOP SP SPORT 5000 DSST P245/40RF19 DEVELOPED SIDEWALL BUBBLE SPONTANEOUSLY. THESE TIRES WERE STANDARD WHEN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS OF SIDEWALL BUBBLES FOLLOWING POTHOLE ENCOUNTERS. TIRES HAD ONLY 17,500 MILES ON THEM. THE FACT THAT THERE ARE SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE.
