LIONHART TIRES Complaints

The contact owns a 1989 Chevrolet R Conventional equipped with Lionhart Tires, Tire Line: Lionclaw ATX2, Tire Size: 215/85/R16, DOT Number: TBJ6FA5C. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the rear driver's side tire blew out and damaged the fender. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. AAA assisted the contact in replacing the tire with a spare tire. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH four months later, the front passenger's side tire blew out. AAA assisted the contact in replacing the tire with the spare tire. The contact stated that both tires blew out at the sidewall. The tires were replacement tires. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact sent pictures of the damaged tires to the manufacturer; however, the manufacturer denied assistance in replacing the tires. The tire failure mileage was approximately 7,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 91,000. The VIN was not available.

My tire is a 255 / 40 ZR 19 model, speed rated 100W. While rotating my tires I noticed catastrophic tread separation on the inner sidewall of the tire. The separation is scattered, not all in one section, and in total covers about 1/4 of the total diameter. The underlying belt package has separated and steel wire is plainly visible at distance. The tire was still holding normal pressure at the time of discovery and there was no indication of the separation from any pressure devices or anything other than visual identification of the issue, which was only possible due to a routine tire rotation. Driving conditions since installation of the tire have been ~85% dry weather at speeds no greater than 85mph. A long haul trip from San Jose, CA to Los Angles, CA (~675 miles round trip) occurred 1.5 weeks prior to discovery.

We were traveling home and our TPMS indicated a tire failure. The PSI starting dropping rapidly. We took the tire off and found that only 4 " of rubber holding the back sidewall together on the tire. I then inspected the other tires on the car (which were purchased and installed at the same time) are showing signs of failure as well. All of the tires are 255-40-r19 We had a family of 4 in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The contact owns a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with two Lionhart Tires, Tire Line: LHS, Tire Size: 305/30/ZR26, DOT Number: TB2ACY50. The contact stated that he had installed two Lionhart tires on the front of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was a secondary vehicle that was not driven often. The contact stated that he observed a bulge on the tire, and the tire sidewall was separating from the tread next to the bulge. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 4,500 on a new installed engine. The tire failure mileage was 2,000.

Truck started shaking like a tire was out of round. Right front tire had separation (several large bubbles on the inside of the tire). I replaced that tire with a spare of a different brand. About 2 weeks later the left rear tire had the same issue. These tires are less than 1 year old and have less then 15,000 miles. I do not trust these tires any more and replaced them at significant cost.

NOT LONG AFTER, WE RECEIVED AN EXTREMELY VAGUE RECALL NOTICE STATING A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF THEIR TIRES SOLD FROM 2018 ON CAN SUDDENLY FAIL. WE CONTACTED THEM WITH A REQUEST TO HELP US NOTIFY ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS AND OUR REQUEST HAS FALLEN ON DEAF EARS. WE REQUIRE ASSISTANCE IN NOTIFYING OUR OVER 1000 POTENTIALLY AFFECTED CUSTOMERS. WE HAVE RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE FROM TURBO TIRES OR SENTURY TIRE. LIONHART LH5 285/25/22 H95 LOAD RATING TIRE DOT NO. PT25MBT5C AFTER SHIPMENT ARRIVED AND EQUIPMENT INSTALLED I NOTICED THAT THE LOAD RATING WAS NOT CORRECT FOR THE SAID VEHICLE. TIRE WILL FAIL, LOAD RATING IS NOT SUFFICIENT . IT ONLY PROVIDES 95 WHEN 102 IS NEEDED.
