NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER ALL TERRAIN TIRES- Kingwood, TX
LT295/65R20 Two Nitto Grappler G2 which were on the rear of my truck, the internal belts of the tire have separated, causing a buckle of the tire. The separation caused a bouncing rough ride. This is a safety issue when riding the vehicle and I believe eventually it would have blown. The two tires were replaced by Discount Tire under my extended warranty that I purchased with the tires. I did contact Nitto Tire and attempted to have them replace the remaining front tires, I believe they will be separating very soon. Nitto refused to replace the tires, due to the tires being over 5 years old. The tires are not worn and have 11/32’s thread. I believe Nitto has a problem with the tires separating and should be addressed.

The vehicle manufacturer was also made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for assistance from the Service Manager. NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER G2 A/T TIRES- Myrtle Beach, SC
275/60/20 tire size. Driving home the other night started noticing my truck felt wobbly. Thought it was just the road until the truck started violently shaking at around 60mph. VIOLENTLY shaking. Pulled off immediately and looked at the front, sides, rear end, etc. Checked the tires, rear passenger side was stolen in 1 spot, and around that spot in a very isolated area the tire was completely bald and had a large lump in it. Other 3 tires seem ok right now. Contacted manufacturer who directed me to fill out a form on their website to "try for a replacement.". Can't find receipts from purchase so that's no good. Took to local mechanic/tire shop who stated that the "tread separated from the tire.". Separation is approximately 1 foot long and 2/3 of the tire width. Bald spot runs along this lump/separation.

NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER G2 TIRES- San Antonio, TX
My tires have only 5600 miles on them...Nitto 265/65R17's. I have my 5,000 mile service. They rotated the tires. A couple of days later I noticed my steering wheel shaking. I took it back to the dealership. They said my tires have High Road Force..only the two that were from the rear. They contacted Nitto, they will not replace the tires because they only cover the first 1/32 of the tires and Im at 2/32. There has to be something wrong with these tires to be so new and yet have this problem. My tires cannot be rotated because the two with the problem will need to stay on the back of the truck so as that my steering wheel wont shake.

NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER ALL TERRAIN TIRES- LAKE WORTH, FL
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER WITH NITTO AND HAVE HAD THE TIRES INSPECTED BY ONE OF THERE DISTRIBUTORS AT THEIR REQUEST. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIRE SEPARATION THAT IS OCCURRING APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT ACCORDING TO THE INSPECTOR. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIRE FROM THIS SAME MANUFACTURER TO FALL APART AND AT APPROX 18000 MILES WITH THIS SET. IT IS A HUGE CONCERN AS THEY SHOW NO SIGNS OF WEAR OR DEFECT UNTIL THEY ARE ABOUT TO FAIL. FORTUNATELY, I HAVE BECOME AN EXPERT AT FEELING THE IRREGULARITIES WHILE DRIVING AND HAVE NOW STARTED INSPECTING THE TIRES IMMEDIATELY BEFORE MY LIFE IS THREATENED. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM THAT I WAS HOPING TO GET THE TIRES, I SAVED TWO OF THEM, BACK TO NITTO FOR EXAMINATION. THEY INITIALLY SEEMED VERY INTERESTED AFTER HEARING THE NEWS FROM THEIR INSPECTOR, BUT MY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEM HAVE BEEN IGNORED AND THEY HAVE FAILED TO FOLLOW UP AS PROMISED. I WAS FORCED TO REPLACE ONE TIRE ALREADY DUE TO MY LOCATION AWAY FROM HOME AT TIME OF INCIDENT AND WHILE TRAVELING HOME I FELT THE OTHER TIRE START TO GO AND YES THIS WAS ALSO INSPECTED. I WILL NOW REPLACE ALL OF MY TIRES YET AGAIN (WITH A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER THIS TIME) FOR SIMPLE FEAR OF FAILURE AND INJURY OR DEATH. I FELT AT MINIMUM YOU SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THIS SITUATION IN CASE OTHERS HAVE BEEN INJURED DUE TO THEIR FAULTY PRODUCTS. IT BOTHERS ME GREATLY THAT THEY WOULD NOT WANT TO HAVE THESE RETURNED FOR EVALUATION. I WASN'T REQUESTING ANY WARRANTY OR COMPENSATION, SO IT'S NOT ABOUT MONEY FOR ME.
