I am filing this on behalf of a relative. He was driving his Kia k5 home and he heard a sudden POP. He got it to the side of the road and saw his tread was delaminated and a flap was made on the sidewall. The tires were the factory installed ones with a long life left

PIRELLI PZERO PZ4 TIRES- Rosharon, TX
I had 9985 miles on my 2023 Mercedes S580V when the front passenger tire experienced a blowout earlier this year. The tire failed right after I had my first A service which did not show an issue with tires. Today is 10/30/2024 and I have 13978 miles on my vehicle. The driver side front tire Pirelli 255/35-R21/98Y has a bubble on the side wall. I took it to my dealership and they discovered that the rear passenger side Pirelli 285/30-R21/100Y has a bubble as well. I am having both tires replaced today.

PIRELLI PZERO TIRES- Seneca, SC
I purchased a Cadillac CTS 3.6, Performance Model, in late 2015 with Pirelli 245/40 R18 Pzero Run Flats as OEM tires. I replaced those tires with the exact same Pzero tires in February, 2019, after 35,250 miles on the OEM tires. I never had a problem with the OEM tires, and expected a similar driving experience and performance from the replacement Pzeros. To my surprise, the experience from the new replacement tires was completely different from the originals. I complained to the dealer on numerous occasions about the way the replacement tires rode and performed. I had the dealer re-check the front end alignment. I complained to the dealer that the tires lost air pressure to the extent of two psi per week. I complained to the dealer that the tires, as opposed to the driver, steered the car. I was at the Cadillac dealership on December 31, 2021, for a typical oil change and asked the dealer to check the front end alignment. At the time, the car had 48,458 miles on the odometer, and to my surprise, the dealer advised that there was no point in rotating and balancing the tires, or checking the alignment, because the wear on the tires was to the point of being dangerous to drive. Thus with 12,923 miles on these replacement tires, they needed replacement. I immediately complained to he tire dealer about the premature wear of the Pzero tires, They examined the tires, and agreed that there was obviously a defect resulting in the premature wear, and would file a claim with Pirelli on my behalf. I’ve heard nothing from them to date. As evidenced by the above information, please consider this a claim on my behalf, for tire defects in the Pzero tires, causing dangerous driving conditions, and premature wear shortening the life of the tires. The remaining life of the Pzero tires, the mileage shortened by the defects, amounts to $xxx, prorated, and herewith being claimed. THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM A LETTER TO PIRELLI N.A. FURTHER INFO CAN BE FURNISHED ON REQUEST.

PIRELLI PZERO NERO M+S TIRES- MONTVILLE, NJ
WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF LEASING THIS NEW CAR (< 250 MILES), BOTH LOW PROFILE OEM FRONT TIRES (235/40R-19 PIRELLI P ZERO ALL SEASON VOL VOLVO, KS, PNCS XL, PART NUMBER 3158400) WERE DAMAGED BY POTHOLES. I WAS TOLD BY ONE LOCAL TIRE SHOP THAT LOW PROFILE TIRES ARE MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE. I HAVE NOT DAMAGED TIRES ON POTHOLES LIKE THIS BEFORE. VOLVO DOES NOT WARRANT THESE (UNLESS YOU PURCHASE THEIR EXPENSIVE ROAD HAZARD PACKAGE), AND PIRELLI'S WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE. THE NEW TIRES COST $536.34, AND THERE'S AN ADDITIONAL $25 PER TIRE FOR MOUNTING AND BALANCING.

TIRES - I HAVE 1,500 MILES OR SO ON THEM (NEW). THEY WAS INSTALLED BY THEM BMW DEALERSHIP AS I WAS PURCHASING THE CAR. I HAD THE CARS SHIPPED HERE TO MD. DRIVING THE CAR LOCALLY AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE, IT STARTED TO MAKE A TERRIBLE NOISE ABOVE 40 MPH AND WOULD GET WORSE UP TO 60 MPH THAT'S AS FAST AS I WOULD GO. THE LOCAL BMW DEALERSHIP NOTED IT ONE OF THE (LEFT REAR TIRE)S INSTALLED. HAS AN 8-INCH BUBBLE ON THE INSIDE. THEY WANTED TO REPLACE IT COSTING ME $486. TO REPLACE THE TIRE. 1500 MILES TO A NEW TIRE? NO.... THIS IS A DEFECTIVE TIRE. LOOKING ON LINE THERE'S MANY / SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME MANNER ABOUT THE TIRES. THIS CAR HAS NEVER HIT A POTHOLE OR SEEN A ROUGH ROAD WITH THE TIRES. THE CAR IS VERY CAREFULLY DRIVEN AROUND. I CONTACTED MR. TIRE WHO QUICKLY SAID ON THE PHONE NO MATTER HOW CAREFUL YOU DRIVE YOU MUST OF HIT A POTHOLE. NO WANTING TO VISUALLY INSPECT THE TIRE STATING, IT HAPPENS TO THE TIRE REGULAR. THATS WHAT'S PUSHING ME TO CONTACT NHTSA FOR A REVIEW. I STRONGLY FEEL ITS AN UNSAFE TIRE IF IT DOES THIS IN THE MANNER THAT I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR. IF THIS TIRE IS TREATED THIS DELICATE THAN I AM VERY MUCH CONCERNED FOR DAILY DRIVER SAFETY UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. 02418582WR2 TIRE SIZE 255/30/19 DOT CE W# L250 0415 PZERO PIRELLI RUN FLAT
