2015 ACURA TLX Complaints

Complete engine failure occurred. Certified Acura dealership inspected and confirmed connecting rod failure was the cause. Vehicle was no longer operable. The vehicle had to be towed to the original dealership for repairs, a new engine was the remedy at the consumers expense. Vehicle was being driven at the time of engine failure, which put the safety of the driver and others at serious risk. This recall is overly delayed and has caused a financial burden along with the safety of many individuals. It needs to be remedied.

I took my car to an Acura dealer because there was a noticeable increase in engine noise upon starting and at lower engine rpms. The dealer identified that the problem was related to a recall - NHTSA # 23v-751. He also informed me that it may be 3-4 months before Acura is ready ro rectify this problem. The problem has serious consequences and I would like Acura to rectify it much sooner.

Multiple warnings occur on information screen. 1. Transmission system problem. 2. Blind spot info system problem. 3. Electric parking brake problem. 4. Emissions system problem. Transmission begins to slip and behave radically. RPM rev above normal as if it can't upshift. Dealer recently did service on transmission and replaced module. Also had recall service completed for stalling at intersections/full stop. Vehicle has had transmission issues throughout our ownership. approx. 6 yrs. bought used from dealer.

I was driving, and my car started slowing down smoking under the hood with a loud noise under the hood like a knocking sounds. Then I heard a loud bang. Paid a tow company to tow my car to the shop mechanic found a large hole in the block. Last oil changed was 03/16/2023. I called acura to see if a recall had been reported after learning about other people having the same issues. It didn't seem normal for a car to blow a block that had oil in it and only 99,000 miles on the engine. Now my car is in the shop and I have been paying to get the engine replaced. The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the engine overheated. The contact stated that the excessive engine temperature message was displayed. The contact looked under the hood and became aware that the coolant reservoir cap was disengaged. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Coolant). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering and braking functionality. The contact coasted the vehicle to a stop. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and was unable to shift the vehicle out of park(P). The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine short block needed to be replaced. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the short block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

The emissions control warning come on every now and then.. and it goes by it self I have my car completely stock. No modifications... The emission control light come on the dash following parking brake system problem.. I have file another complaint on another form...and it goes away by itself.. I've check with my dealership and they have not responded me yet

I recently got my rotors replaced and the car stutter while braking. Also, this happened before I replaced rotors.. the transmission is slow and won't shift to merge highways. I don't know if its the transmission or the brake lines.. I guess it's the transmission trying to drop gears for engine braking and it starts stuttering.

Upon braking, when coming to a full stop, the transmission (ZF 9-speed automatic) makes a very hard downshift into 1st gear and causes the car to lurch forward. This issue appears to be worsening over time. The car is becoming more and more difficult and dangerous to drive due to this issue. The car was very recently brought into an Acura dealership (DCH Montclair Acura) to address this issue. They replaced the transmission fluid and conducted a general software update, but this issue continues to persist as before.
