2023 ALFA ROMEO STELVIO- Des Moines, iowa, IA
I had my vehicle towed to alpha dealership in Kansas City as that is the closest one now to me. Per the recall notice. There was no issue with car being towed down but Alfa Romeo will not tow it back home to my house In [XXX] where it was picked up. They said new rule of 150 miles. However the car is under warranty and it was a recall as well. They said that they determined that it’s a Courtesy to tow car down but not a guarantee be towed back. I said but car is under warranty and it also was a recall. They said I would need to make arrangements to get my car back home. I said wonder if I was broken down in the middle of nowhere. You wouldn’t tow my car to a dealership for warranty work or if you did it wouldn’t be guaranteed that it would be towed back to you. She stated correct. I was not very happy and extremely upset. I said wants the point of a warranty or even an extended warranty. No answer and no help was she . Her name was Jessica and supposedly a team leader for customer care. She said it was denied tow back because it wasn’t a necessary repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My Alfa Romeo with VIN [XXX] has an active recall 93C (NHTSA Recall 25V586) related to the Fuel Delivery Module. The recall specifically states that this issue can lead to a sudden loss of drive power while driving and possibly result in a crash. Due to the closure of the dealership in San Antonio where I live and purchased the car, the nearest Alfa Romeo authorized service center is in Austin, Texas. This is a distance of 125 miles from my home and involves primarily driving on highways with 70 mph speed limits. Because this is a critical safety recall, I have already scheduled an appointment with this dealer for the repair; however, when I contacted Alfa Romeo to inquire about arranging a tow from my home to the authorized repair center.,they would only cover the cost of towing the vehicle up to 15 miles. They quoted that I would need to pay an out of pocket cost of more than $1000 to have the vehicle towed for the recall repair. Forcing me to pay over $1000 or drive my vehicle 120 miles at highway speeds while there is an open stall/loss-of-power recall creates an unreasonable safety risk and illegal financial barrier. The vehicle currently has 128,000 miles on it which significantly increases the risk of the FDM issue occurring. Under 49 U.S.C. § 30120(a), manufacturers are required to remedy safety defects without charge. By closing local dealerships and requiring an out-of-pocket payment of $1,000 for towing overage to reach the nearest operational Alfa Romeo dealer, the manufacturer is violating the 'without charge' requirement and failing to provide a reasonable safety remedy. 2018 ALFA ROMEO STELVIO- VIRGINIA BEACH, VA
I am reporting an authorized manufacturer franchise dealer for actively refusing to remedy a federal safety recall and unlawfully withholding my vehicle. My vehicle is a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio (VIN: [Insert VIN]), which is subject to the active Fuel Pump Safety Recall (NHTSA Campaign 25V586000 / Manufacturer Recall Code 93C). The vehicle has been physically located at Southern Alfa Romeo of Norfolk ([XXX]) for approximately 18 months. The dealership service management has explicitly stated that they will not perform the mandatory safety recall remedy, nor will they release my vehicle to a flatbed towing company, until an unrelated $5,000 civil dispute involving a loaner car is paid out of pocket. By conditioning a federal safety mandate and the physical custody of my vehicle on a separate civil debt, this dealership is violating the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. Chapter 301). The 1.5-year delay also completely violates the federal requirement to provide a safety remedy within a reasonable timeframe. I request federal intervention to force compliance. 2019 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA- Gilbert, AZ
1. The fuel delivery/fuel pressure system is malfunctioning. The vehicle has experienced fuel-pressure related diagnostic trouble codes, loss of power, stalling, and limp mode. The fuel pressure sensor was replaced, but the same diagnostic codes and symptoms continued. The symptoms are consistent with the fuel delivery module/fuel pump defect described in NHTSA recall 25V586. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. 2. The vehicle repeatedly enters limp mode and has experienced loss of power, stalling, and severe shifting problems, especially with low fuel. I have had to drive 20–30 miles on the freeway while unable to accelerate or shift normally, nearly causing multiple accidents around traffic and semi-trucks. I regularly transport my family and children, greatly increasing the safety risk from an unexpected loss of power or stalling. 3. No. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. However, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power, stalling, limp mode, and shifting problems, along with the same two fuel-pressure related diagnostic trouble codes. The fuel pressure sensor was replaced, but the codes and symptoms remained. 4. No. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or an insurance representative. 5. Yes. The check-engine light appeared with codes P018D and P018B. The vehicle subsequently experienced limp mode, loss of power, stalling, and severe shifting issues, especially with low fuel. Replacing the fuel pressure sensor did not resolve the codes or symptoms.

2019 ALFA ROMEO STELVIO- West Seneca, NY
1. COMPONENT FAILED & INSPECTION: The transmission ground strap (uninsulated, bare braided copper cable) completely corroded/severed from environmental decay. This open ground circuit forced high engine-cranking currents into secondary low-voltage paths, causing an extreme thermal surge that melted and shorted out the main engine compartment wiring harness. Both failed components are preserved by the owner and are available for forensic inspection upon request. 2. SAFETY RISK: This manufacturing flaw causes a severe thermal fire hazard and an instantaneous, catastrophic loss of all vehicle propulsion, power steering, braking assist, and lighting systems while operating on public roadways. This abrupt deactivation threatens occupant safety and surrounding traffic by risking high-speed highway collisions or engine bay fires without warning. 3. CONFIRMATION: The exact failure cascade was formally diagnosed, itemized, and verified by Maranello Alfa Romeo of [XXX] ([XXX]) under a repair estimate of $7,203.10. 4. INSPECTIONS: Formally inspected by factory-certified technicians at the local authorized dealership center. No insurance, police, or outside authority investigations have occurred yet, as the car was towed immediately to avoid an active open highway fire. 5. SYMPTOMS & WARNINGS: There were absolutely no warning lamps, messages, check engine lights, or symptoms prior to the incident. Failure occurred instantly on XXX. The vulnerability was hidden from plain sight until the primary ground pathway severed completely during engine startup. 6. MANUFACTURER KNOWLEDGE: Alfa Romeo engineering has recognized this danger on 2017-early 2023 models, releasing a redesigned, fully sheathed/insulated ground cable (Part No. 68648999AA) to prevent this environmental decay. The consumer was never proactively notified of this critical safety vulnerability INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2019 ALFA ROMEO STELVIO- Chandler, AZ
I'm driving and all of a sudden - while I'm on the highway - a service engine pops up on the dashboard, and my car looses all power and drive ability. I immediately loose any gas/drive ability to accelerate or maintain legal speeds. I read about the recent recall with the fuel system and it's exactly what my car is experiencing, but somehow my VIN is both telling me that my car has a recall at one place, and then doesn't have a recall at another. It's confusing and I"m not sure what the database issue is because my car is experiencing the same exact feul system problem is that I"m reading on line for recall of my car's year.

2020 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA- Chandler, AZ
My fuel pump started to fail. I am open to having it inspected, the problem is I already replaced it myself because I wasn’t aware of the fuel pump recall for the 2017-2019 models. I know my vehicle is a 2020 but it was manufactured in 2019. It happened twice, I was driving on the highway when my car suddenly lost power. I couldn’t accelerate and I had to merge through multiple lanes to try and pull over safely. I took it to the Alfa Romeo dealership and they were the ones to tell me my fuel pump was failing. No warning lamps, or messages, just suddenly losing power while driving. They appeared sometime last year and I was fortunate enough to repair it.

I own a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia that recently received a fuel-pump-related recall repair under FCA Recall 93C / NHTSA Campaign 25V-586 at an authorized Alfa Romeo dealership. Approximately three days after the recall repair was completed, I was driving the vehicle in active traffic with my daughter when the vehicle unexpectedly began decelerating and lost drive power. I had to shut the vehicle off, and afterward the vehicle would not restart. The vehicle had to be towed back to the Alfa Romeo dealership. The service advisor subsequently advised me that the current problem was related to the fuel system and that the fuel-related component was being replaced again. The vehicle remains at the dealership while the repair is being completed. This is also the second time this vehicle has completely shut down while I was driving. During a prior incident, the vehicle became disabled on a busy roadway and police responded and blocked traffic around the vehicle because of the danger posed by its location. I am concerned that the Recall 93C repair did not adequately remedy the fuel-system defect, that the replacement component failed, or that the recall repair was otherwise connected to the subsequent loss-of-drive-power event. I have repair records, towing documentation and video relating to the current repair and will retain the dealership's final diagnostic report when it becomes available.

The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, several unknown warning lights were illuminated, before the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The contact stated that there was a rattling sound coming from the turbo charger. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

My 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia lost motive power and was disabled multiple times the most recent on August 3, 2026 due to failure of the fuel delivery module — the same component and failure mode covered by Safety Recall 93C / NHTSA Campaign 25V-586. When I contacted the dealership, they confirmed the recall applied to my vehicle but advised that replacement parts were not available. No loaner or alternate transportation was offered. I was without my vehicle for 8 days and had to rent a vehicle at my own expense. FCA US filed this recall on September 9, 2025 stating that the remedy was still under development. Owners were left without a repair path for an extended period on a defect the manufacturer's own chronology shows it had been evaluating since 2023, and which had produced 437 complaints, 5 crashes, and 3 injuries by the time the defect was determined. Stellantis has twice declined to reimburse my transportation costs, citing that the visit was "recall work only" and that my factory warranty expired in 2021. My vehicle was not brought in for preventive recall service — it failed on the road because of the recalled part. I am reporting this so the delay between recall announcement and parts availability, and its cost to owners, is on the record for this campaign.
