THIS IS A FOLLOW UP TO MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT, 11737275 AS THE VEHICLE HAS NOW DEGRADED TO PERSISTENT ACTIVE STALLING. This is a follow-up to my previous complaint 11737275 as the vehicle has now degraded to persistent active stalling. The failed component is the fuel pump assembly under active safety recall NHTSA 25V586 (Mopar 93C), and the un-remedied vehicle is completely available for physical inspection upon request. Safety is severely compromised as the vehicle experiences extreme drops in RPM, engine choking, and sudden stalling immediately after fueling because the failing, recalled pump cannot maintain proper pressure to compensate for standard EVAP canister vapor purging cycles. This dangerous driveability defect has been formally brought to Criswell Alfa Romeo, where service staff confirmed the failures but stated they cannot perform the remedy because the redesigned factory replacement component is currently unavailable. While the vehicle remains open for full review by any designated authority, it has not yet undergone formal inspection by the manufacturer, local law enforcement, or insurance investigators. The symptoms first manifested in 2021 immediately before the safety recall campaign became public knowledge, and the vehicle has suffered from these chronic, hazardous failures ever since. The manufacturer's technical summary states that 2017–2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles may experience a loss of motive power due to a heat-susceptible fuel delivery module (FDM) losing flow rate, which FCA US will remedy by conducting a voluntary safety recall to replace the FDM with a newly updated Pump Electronic Module (PEM). My vehicle is a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio TI.

The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone however, the diagnostic results were unavailable. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V586000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Engine light came on. I was told by the first dealership that the coolant was mixing with the engine oil. There was also a vehicle at the shop there for the same issue. after doing some research online, it appears that this is a bigger issue. I bought the car at 20,000 miles and this began happening around 52000 miles. Given the low mileage, this is something that should not be happening to a newer car.

My vehicle has been subject of multiple recalls, however the current recall is a significant one and has been pending for months with no end in sight. I am concerned The manufacturer and dealers are not taking this seriously and the delay is causing additional damage to my vehicle. Additionally quickly googling my vehicle will show that it has fuel pump and acceleration jerking and lag issues that are extremely, extremely, common and troubling. I am also still having the service engine soon issues described in recalls and other forums related to throttle cable. Either none of this has been addressed by the manufacturer or the repairs so far have not been sufficient if it is still so common. On behalf of all Stelvio owners I demand these recalls and issues be addressed in a timely manner. This is going to cost us additional grief, safety issues, and repair costs. The biggest being my safety and my family's safety when we are riding in this vehicle, the acceleration issues are very noticeable and are getting worse. The symptoms are -exactly-what is described online and also as part of the recall. I don't even have the option to get it fixed there is no parts to fix available. This is a very nice vehicle, but this is getting old not having repairs done and the dealers running out of parts etc. Waiting months and months for repairs. - Fiat, Alfa Romeo and their dealerships do not seem to be taking this seriously - at all, they should have pride in their products like the owners do when we buy them. I want my Stelvio to be the best it can be, fully safe, and fully functional.

The contact owns a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stalled. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled while in a parking lot. The fuel warning light, the auto-stop warning light, and the traction control warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was initially towed to a relative's residence and later towed to a local dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the stalling failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the failure as a faulty fuel module requiring replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but offered no financial assistance and advised the contact not to drive the vehicle. The contact confirmed that the remedy part for NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V586000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 43,250.

Hot weather, longish drive, car lost power and started throwing codes. I have a code reader (because this has happened before) and the code reader blamed the problem on fuel delivery system. You issued a recall on this last year (25V-586) but there is not yet a remedy from the company. This car, and many like it may be dangerous to drive and may strand drivers -- as it would have done to me in the past had I need had the code reader and the means to re-set the computer once ambient temperature were lower. You may want to issue a reminder to them that this needs fixing and ASAP. Thanks.

The vehicle is subject to Alfa Romeo Safety Recall 93C (NHTSA Campaign 25V586) for a defective Fuel Delivery Module. The safety defect is an active, un-remedied hazard. The vehicle is currently located at [Name of Alfa Romeo Dealership] for an official diagnosis and is available for inspection. The vehicle has an active safety recall for sudden, catastrophic engine stalling at highway speeds due to fuel pump warping. Because the manufacturer has not provided a remedy or a safe alternative transport, I am forced to choose between driving a vehicle with an acknowledged highway-stalling hazard or being completely deprived of my transportation. The vehicle cannot be safely operated in commerce until Recall 93C is performed. The vehicle is currently undergoing inspection by the manufacturer's authorized technicians at the Alfa Romeo dealership. It has also been reviewed administratively through a claim with the National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS), which was denied based on mileage despite the active federal safety recall. The vehicle displayed an "Excessive Oil" warning and experienced heavy smoking from the engine bay beginning around June 25, 2026. While the vehicle has also been undergoing cooling system repairs, the presence of these severe engine warnings and thermal symptoms creates an immediate escalation of risk when combined with the active 93C fuel pump recall.

The contact owns a 2025 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated that while driving 68 MPH, there was an abnormal banging sound coming from the vehicle and the contact pulled over to the right side of the road and exited the vehicle. The contact became aware that the sunroof was open, and the sunroof frame was damaged. Neither the dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated that while driving on two occasions at undisclosed speeds, the check engine, oil, and the Automatic START/STOP System Unavailable warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer twice; however, on the first occasion, the failure was not duplicated. During the second visit, the contact was informed that the coolant was mixing into the engine oil, which caused the engine failure. The contact was informed that several unstated parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The contact stated that after driving the vehicle and parking the vehicle, upon returning to the vehicle a short time later, the vehicle hesitated while restarting. On another occasion, the vehicle was started and stalled while driving. Approximately 10 minutes later, the vehicle was able to be restarted. A diagnostic scan of the vehicle indicated a failure with the fuel delivery system. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a temporary workaround was performed; however, the vehicle became inoperable shortly after being started and driven. No further repairs were completed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number 25V586000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
