On our 2022 American Coach Dream 45A the one of two v-ride suspension bolt failed. There was no warning we had a problem. Upon inspection the second bolt was missing all together. The bolt snapped. The RV could no longer be safely drivable as the suspension would not work properly until both bolts were installed. The bolt was confirmed by a ntts repair man to be faulty possibly torqued incorrectly and he replaced with larger bolts and better nuts/washer. No warnings or error messages from Freightliner chassis other than a loud clunk and inability to shift coach without grinding noise. The RV is serviced annually with Freightliner in Gaffney, SC.

TPMS continues to not work and show false readings and/or no readings at all with continued warnings on the dash instrument cluster effecting operation of vehicles other instrument warning systems. Recall was issued in 2022 for this system for manufacture and has not resolved issues. Safety of all drivers and passengers is a concern as all warning systems are compromised as tire pressure and temperature are incorrect or missing. Vehicle has been back to manufactures repair centers several times with no resolve. It is understanding that this same problem is still current in many of the Freightliner vehicles of this year model.

When operating the vehicle for extended periods of time, more than 4 hours. Multiple times over a 5000 mile road trip the speed control disconnects, aural chime and a yellow warning message - active brake assist functions limited see operators manual. This is especially prevalent during precipitation. The cruise control does not reengage at a critical time when it is needed the most. I have photos of the message and conditions of travel. Exactly 60 minutes from the cruise control disconnect, I mean exactly 60 minutes, a message will display that active brake is available and the cruise control will allow use. During the portion of inoperable cruise is less than desirable conditions our vehicle speed varied by 10 mph fast or slow from the posted speed limit due to poor programming of the throttle position pedal. I pulled off the interstate at a fuel station and shut the vehicle off, waited 5 min and restarted with no difference in the fault. The vehicle was returned to the dealer months prior for the same complaint, a software update was performed. The software update did not fix the apparent hardware issue. Our safety was jeopardized by poor accelerator pedal programming while removing operation of the cruise control at a critical time. Each occurrence was identical. Removal of cruise control for a hardware or software error to reduce the manufacturers perceived liability will result in serious accidents due to wildly fluctuating speed in inclement weather on the interstate.

Summary: REV Recreation Group "REV" is recalling certain 2016-2019 American Coach American Eagle and 2016 American Heritage motorhomes equipped with factory-installed rear air deflectors. The center mounting plate for the rear air deflector may have been installed incorrectly with screws that may loosen, possibly resulting in the air deflector detaching from the vehicle. Consequence: If the rear air deflector detaches from the motorhome, it may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. The Rear Air Deflector did come undone and crashed on our Ford F150 that I was towing

    1. Some of the vehicle's wiring harnesses are located, unprotected, in the wheel wells above the vehicle's tires. Water, road debris and/or a tire blowout pose a significant risk in potentially damaging the wiring harnesses and disabling the vehicle creating a road hazard. 2. Electronic components that are responsible for the vehicle's operation and located within the service bays are subjected to water intrusion when the vehicle is driven in the rain. Water intrusion originates from somewhere within the vehicle and not as a breach of the service bay door seals. Water damage to the electronic components can potentially disable the vehicle and/or cause a fire creating a hazardous condition on the road. 3. Fuel lines from the mid-chassis fuel tank are routed through the frame members in such a manner that they are scuffing against the sharp edges of the frame members. The fuel lines are unprotected and could eventually wear through resulting in a fuel leak and potential fire. 4. The steering shaft binds against the floorboard. This defect was identified in a PDI report generated by the manufacture's inspector. The manufacturer chose to deliver the vehicle for sale without addressing this defect, nor disclosing the defect to the customer. 5. The vehicle's utilizes a truss framework for the chassis. The bottom structural member of the truss frame is comprised of 3 individual pieces butt welded together. The pieces are not aligned with each other and some welds are incomplete. The length of the entire bottom structural member is 20'7", which begs the question, why wasn't a single continuous frame member utilized. Furthermore, if welding complies with DOT standards, shouldn't the pieces have been cut at a 45 degree angle to maximize the welded contact area resulting in a stronger structural member. The vehicle is available for inspection. The manufacturer is aware of some of these defects

SMART STEERING WHEEL ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS FAIL UNEXPECTEDLY. THE HORN, WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND CRUISE CONTROL ARE AFFECTED. ANY ONE OF WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IN THESE VERY LARGE VEHICLES. MYSELF AND MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS BRAND AND GENERATION HAVE COMPLAINED ON AN ON-LINE OWNERS FORUM. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THE WIRING TERMINAL CONNECTIONS TO THE SMART WHEEL CONTROLLER JUST STOP MAKING CONTACT DUE TO NON-ROBUST TERMINALS. SPARTAN CHASSIS TELLS THE CUSTOMER THAT IT'S A FAULTY MODULE, BUT A NEW MODULE IS AN EXPENSIVE AND VERY TEMPORARY FIX. REMOVING THE WIRING TERMINALS FROM THE MODULE, CLEANING THEM, AND REINSERTING THE CONNECTORS IS ALSO A TEMPORARY FIX. WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, MY COACH HAS UNEXPECTEDLY LOST WINDSHIELD WIPERS SEVERAL TIMES, JUST WHEN YOU NEED THEM THE MOST. ONCE, THE HORN FAILED, AND TWICE, THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED. AFTER PAYING SPARTAN TO INSTALL A NEW MODULE, THE PROBLEM RETURNED ONLY TWO MONTHS LATER. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD TO REMOVE AND REINSERT THE CONNECTORS TO THE MODULE SEVERAL TIMES TO GET ALL FUNCTIONS WORKING AGAIN. MANY OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED TO PREVENT TERRIBLE ACCIDENTS. SPARTAN NEEDS TO RECALL THESE UNITS AND REPLACE THE SMART WHEEL WIRING HARNESSES WITH MUCH MORE ROBUST TERMINAL CONNECTORS.
