2013 AUDI A4 ALLROAD- Stratham, NH
The rear carrier frame has rusted through. There are trim pieces that are attached to the frame , they trap and hold moisture and salt like a cup under the frame, not visible during a regular inspection. My car only has 95k has been garage kept and taken through car washes in the winter with undercarriage wash (to no avail). After some investigation it seems that Volkwagon /Audi corp. has known about this issue since 2009 , but has kept it internally and not made owners aware of this. It would have been so simple to just remove these trim pieces and I wouldn’t have this hole in my car frame, which has basically made it unsafe as this frame holds my suspension and rear differential. There has been a class action lawsuit filed in The NJ District Court by an owner but it is only for Q5 and S5 thus far. In looking for a frame it seems that A4 shares this same frame. One of the guys in service told me, Audi knows about this, they stopped using the trim because of it and they might help you out. The bill from Audi to repair my car is $7417.00 they offered to give me $500 off( gee thanks) My car hasn’t been driven much the last three winters ( RV travel) and had someone notified me my car would have been in the 12 year unlimited mileage corrosion warranty period, now it is just outside of that. There is an article that I read about the Lawsuit and it says that it’s not so much the rust issue as it is the fact that they’ve been handling it internally for over a decade to avoid a recall. I’m really bummed out, I love this car that looks amazing but basically has cancer. No warning lamps, I’ve been told not to drive it by the dealer (Audi Stratham) because it’s a Safety issue. My son found it when the trim piece fell off ( because the bolt rusted out of the frame, resulting in a hole the size of my fist) No other symptoms, this rust didn’t just start it’s been brewing for years . I had an independent shop tell me that it’s a known problem and to take it to the dealer.

2019 AUDI Q5- CLINTON, IL
2019 Audi Q5 had the hardware fail which controls the rear view camera (controls other functions too) It's known as the MMI and the replaced part says "MIB2 Main-Unit" on the housing. I have the old part that the dealer replaced in my possession. Dealer confirmed the part was broken and would require replacement. not having a rear camera impacts safety in parking lots, backing in to streets etc, as well as increased risk of backing off the road esp in tight settings. there was no initial warning - it 100% stopped working then would give some warnings or random short term use the past 3 months while scheduling replacement. Completely unreliable for day to day safety, as we back on to a busy road multiple times per day.

2024 AUDI SQ5- Jacksonville, FL
While making a U-turn on a high-speed arterial roadway (Philips Highway) with a child passenger, the vehicle suffered a sudden, complete failure of the driver-side rear CV axle/driveshaft assembly. A loud pop occurred followed immediately by total loss of vehicle propulsion, leaving the vehicle stranded across active lanes of traffic and creating an extreme hazard for severe rear-end impact. There were no advance warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before the failure occurred. ?The vehicle was towed directly to an authorized dealership. Under Repair Order #198055, technicians inspected the vehicle, verified the failure, and formally documented "CAUSE: DEFECTIVE LEFT REAR AXLE. (mfg defect)". The dealer replaced the failed rear driveshaft assembly under warranty (80A-501-203-L). The failed component/vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer's authorized dealership service department.

2023 AUDI E-TRON GT- Ocala, FL
While driving my children to school, the vehicle suffered a sudden and complete electrical malfunction in the middle of moving traffic. The vehicle began violently rising and falling. It became inoperable and stopped in the roadway. The door locks failed and would not release — my children were trapped inside a disabled vehicle in live traffic. The only opening that would function was the driver's window. I had to pull my children out through the driver's side window, one at a time, into the road, with traffic around us, in order to get them out of the car. That is not an inconvenience or a quality complaint. That is a safety failure with children in the vehicle, and it is the direct result of a defect that Audi has still not repaired. All motherboards had to be replaced

2020 AUDI Q7- Chicago, IL
Dashboard leather is bubbling, separating, and delaminating near the center windshield vents. This is a known manufacturing defect, Audi has issued a warranty extension (bulletin AWA-23-11) for this identical issue on the Q8, e-tron quattro, and R8 models, but not the Q7, despite the dashboard part number (4M8857001S33A) being identical across the Q7 and Q8. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting multiple Audi models sharing this dashboard component
