Car alarmed that my EV had a major electrical issue and made sirens outside as to warn others to not come close and keep distance as if the car will catch fire or explode. I replicated this warning again sitting in the car. Fearing the car will catch fire I had it moved out of my garage. My Audi Service Center was not able to replicate the issue and I provided video and photo evidence of the danger. They claim that car works normal. In the photo is the battery light and sos light on. In addition, all safety features failed to work. Audi Q4 Etron regularly crashes and driver lose federally required safety features. For example additional photos show the loss of speedometer reading stuck on 8 mph and other safety features. These crashes happen at least once a week.

The contact owns a 2024 Audi Q4 E-Tron. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the message "Vehicle Sound Malfunction! Pedestrian Cannot Hear Vehicle. Please Contact Service" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed. The dealer informed the contact that the electric vehicle sound alert system was malfunctioning. The dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer's solution for the failure was pending. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 600.

In July 2023, my 2020 Audi Q7 experienced a complete electrical failure at highway speeds due to a Belt Starter Generator (BSG) malfunction. Audi replaced the BSG with the same faulty part. Months later, I noticed increased oil consumption and loud engine noise. Despite multiple service visits and reporting these issues, Audi failed to properly diagnose the problem. In January 2025, despite a clear check engine light indicating a problem, Audi dismissed my concerns. Just weeks later, in February 2025, the engine catastrophically failed due to undiagnosed internal damage. Audi repeatedly ignored diagnostic warnings and failed to address my complaints, putting my safety at risk. Audi consistently dismissed my concerns, attributing engine noise and oil consumption to normal wear. The failures posed safety risks, including sudden loss of power while driving. Despite documented defects, Audi refused to take responsibility or perform proper diagnostics, resulting in continued safety hazards. I am formally requesting NHTSA to investigate the widespread issues affecting the 2020 Audi Q7, including the BSG system and excessive oil consumption leading to engine failure.” Additional Details: •Component/System Failure: The 48V Belt Starter Generator (BSG) and the engine failed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. •Safety Risks: The electrical failure at highway speeds caused a sudden loss of power. The engine failure posed a risk of the vehicle shutting down unexpectedly while driving. •Problem Confirmation: The Audi dealership confirmed the engine failure and acknowledged the presence of metal shavings in the oil, indicating severe internal damage. •Inspections: The vehicle has been inspected by the Audi dealership, and Audi representatives acknowledged the issue. •Warning Signs: The check engine light illuminated in January 2025. Additional symptoms included loud engine noise (‘tractor-like’) and increased oil consumption, which Audi dismissed.

1) power steering module failed resulting in steering failing on highway. Car is not available for inspection due to being totaled. Issue was a known service bulletin by Audi however new owners had no way to know it was a life threatening issue. 2) The car lost control when power module failed, steering wheel locked up. 3) Yes 4) insurance and the dealership. The dealership refused to cover it because it was 10years past extended warranty even thought it had less than 125,000 miles. Apparently RAIN affects these units. 5) No.

The vehicle at 13,xxx miles on the high ways, and during stop & go traffic; vehicle begins to tremble, transmission and floor shakes, rpms are higher than normal, abnormal noises coming from engine (screeching), jerking on acceleration on the first gears, rough idle, happens only on highways after 1hr of driving. Can drive over 40 min without any check engine light turning on. No codes come up, while clearly having issues. After a day of being off, car goes back to normal without those issues, just vibrations and pulsing on idle. -happens on Texas highways where vehicle begins to have trouble with acceleration and transmission shakes yet no check engine or error messages appear. -problem has been shown to one Audi dealer while happening and another Audi dealer was able to reproduce the problem. They even noted how vehicle will do all the issues noted above while not providing any error codes or messages. - vehicle has been inspected but all they do is reset software and hand back keys. While issues are still prevalent. - no warning, no over heat or any codes appear on the vehicle. Issues started at 13,xxx miles. Only on long highway or stop and go traffic does it happens

My engine just failed after over a year of having to put oil in. The car has 77K miles and has been regularly maintained. Audi used this as a "demo car" and after purchase we immediately had to put oil in and were told verbally this is not an issue. The excessive engine oil consumption caused this catastrophic engine failure our an independent and trusted mechanic reports the engine has failed and cylinder number five only has 30 pounds of pressure. Please advise on what I can do with Audi for repair. We also have a 2019 and are fearful this will happen to that car as well. Thank you.

Recently just purchased car at 64000 miles. 10 days after purchase, while driving on residential streets, noticed fuel odor, then vehicle shutting down. Unable to start, would crank but not start. Had to get towed. Next day added a gallon of gas, was able to start car, but immediately seen fuel spraying and leaking in engine, possibly from injectors, vacuum. Haven’t gotten repaired yet as I am trying to either have dealership fix issues or Audi due to known issues/recall. Hoping to receive some resolution to start repairs

2017 Audi Q7 started consuming oil at 40,000 miles. At 70,000 miles consumption increased to quart every 3,000 miles. At 100,000 miles a quart every 1,000 miles. At 110,000 miles a quart every 40p to 600 miles. This is due to a very well known and documented piston ring issue. Audi offers to do nothing and while I was in warranty they claimed a quart of oil every 1,000 miles was within expected tolerance. This is ridiculous and terrible for the environment. Audi needs to stand behind their vehicles. So may complaints in Audi forum on exact issue.

My 2017 Audi Q7 3.0T with 99k miles and it consumes oil excessively. I am having to add a quart of oil about every 500-600 miles. My local german auto repair shop has told me, in my case that it is extreme & I should be worried. I’ve seen many other people with the same engine with oil consumption & I know it can cause the engine to fail. This needs to be addressed by someone due to how common this problem is with these engines.

I am reporting a serious issue with the 2017 Audi Q7 involving excessive oil consumption. The vehicle burns 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles or less, requiring me to constantly add oil between regular oil changes to avoid engine damage. This is not normal and poses a serious safety risk if the engine runs dry during operation. Audi denied my buyback request without inspecting the vehicle or reviewing service records. Instead, their solution has been to provide free oil top-offs, which proves they are aware of the problem but are avoiding a permanent fix or recall. Other Audi Q7 owners, even with newer models and low mileage, report the same defect. This is a manufacturing defect that makes the vehicle unreliable and unsafe for normal driving. This can cause the vehicle to stall or stop suddenly while driving, especially at high speeds or in traffic. That’s a major safety risk. If the oil burns too quickly, the warning may come too late. The need to constantly monitor and add oil makes the car unreliable for everyday use. Regular oil changes are meant to keep the car safe and working smoothly. But if oil is burning quickly between changes, the car can’t be safely operated on a normal maintenance schedule, which defeats the purpose of service intervals and puts extra responsibility and risk on the driver. Audi’s refusal to issue a recall or perform proper repairs is deceptive and dangerous. I request NHTSA to investigate this issue and determine whether a recall is necessary for this known defect. It also breaches Implied Warranty of Merchantability (UCC § 2-314)
