pistons and/or piston rings cause excessive oil consumption, which can lead to the engine catching on fire. This triggers certain sensors in the car "EPC" "Check engine" and "Turn vehicle off now due to low oil pressure" These sensors turn off and on, which is highly risky. I was quoted 10k in repairs. My Audi SUV hybrid hatchback opens and closes using a "foot assist" motion detection system. I believe other car manufacturers offer similar systems on some of their SUVs. The hatchback often opens and closes without me intending it to. When the hatch is open it has often come down on me, my family and my grandkids without warning and without braking. It has hit our heads hard in coming down and it really did a number on my [XXX] grandson, causing some tears and leaving a good size bump and bruise afterwards. When I come around the back of the car to plug in the electric charger when I come home it often opens unintendedly and the opening hatch has often pinned me hard against the closed garage door. In checking I could not find anything in the manual about turning this feature off or controlling how it works. I spoke to 3 car dealerships and they all said it cant be turned off. Looking on line, there are other stories like mine of people getting hurt and also not finding any way to control the 'foot assist' feature. This may be a useful feature for some people but is an obvious safety hazard for me and others and it is surprising that there is no apparent way to disable or modify the feature. "Front Right Side Marker Light Defective" Error Audi recall campaign 97CB (NHTSA campaign ID 16V642000) addresses this exact issue and applies to some affected VIN numbers but not all. My VIN is not included in the recall.

Tire Size 255/35R19. My 2 front tires suffered from belt separation and I replaced the tires on 6/18/24 (new car milage 15238) at Tire Choice Auto Service Center. My low tire pressure light was on and I made an appointment for an evaluation thinking I may have a nail puncture, however the tire shop manager called me onto the shop floor while my car was raised up to show me the warped tire tread and told me I needed new tires due to belt separation. I checked with Audi Naples and the Continental Tire website at that time and there were no tire recalls for my car tires. I received a recall notice from Continental Tire on 10/29/24 regarding coverage of my tires for a factory recall due to belt separation. I called Continental Tire on 10/31/24 and they decline to cover my cost to replace the two defective Continental tires with two new Continental tires as I have returned the Audi A5 to the dealership to lease a larger Audi vehicle. The Continental Tire letter states they will cover my "cost of the comparable replacement tire, including mounting, balancing and taxes." The letter does not state that I must still be the registered owner/lessee.

Kinked rear sunroof drains causing water to enter vehicle at trunk seres where water was found having entered into the comfort module. The car key fob was not responding me the fault codes for the module were cycling rendering the car in drivable. I have reported this before but wanted to include the proper updated invoice from Audi atl. The previous invoice didn’t state the problem.

All four tire have required replacement due to tread separation 2 tires replaced June 2023 with less than 15,000 miles 2 tires replaced September 2024 ,with thread separation.

Rear spring and lower plates have snapped and are broken. This happened at around 60,000 miles. A lot of 2017 & 2018 Audi Q7 owners are complaining at Audi Forums. Please take a look at this issue. Thank you.

My dealership informed me that my tires were feathering at the edges and wearing unevenly. I found information that there was a recall for this problem. There was a recall (4215) that stated there was a misalignment in the suspension creating the uneven wearing. This included my car model. I need information regarding why my car isn't listed for the recall. The car does have a weird skip in making hard turns.

Panaramic sunroof drains failed allowing water to egress into wheel well trunk side containers and spare tire areas. Water encompassed the comfort control module and left the electronics cycling through electronic error codes leaving the car unable to drive. The car was unable to recognize the key fob and the warning codes were flashing and cycling. Failure of the panaramic sunroof drains.

Fortunately no catastrophic failure or accident occurred. At about 40,000k miles the rear spring mounts are significantly corroded and need replacing. This appears to be a galvanic reaction that occurs due to a design flaw which shortens the life of the critical mounts. I’m told one could fail imminently and the other is headed that way. Had this failed in use the damage would be significant and caused an accident. The service advisor said that Audi is aware of the short lifespan and has an improved version that will be used in the repair. I have a video of one of the mounts and will request the parts when repaired.
