  • 2022 AUDI E-TRON SPORTBACK
    - Atlanta, GA

The integrated high-voltage powertrain / single-speed transmission unit is failing, causing severe mechanical chattering, rapid actuator cycling, and vibration under the vehicle. This failure follows a recent catastrophic, unexplained total loss of traction/HVAC coolant while at a previous Audi dealership. Audi is aware of systemic coolant migration issues into the electric drive motors on 2022 e-tron models under Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #2073858, where coolant breaches internal seals and compromises the gearbox oil, causing mechanical failure. The current dealership has taken a fluid sample but refuses to share the results, denying a high-voltage drivetrain warranty submission and demanding I pay out-of-pocket for a standalone "transmission" failure. Crucially, the dealership has explicitly documented on my file that "driving the car further will cause further damage," yet they are forcing me to pick up and drive this un-diagnosed, potentially hazardous vehicle off the lot on Monday. If the high-voltage motor shorts due to internal fluid contamination while driving, it creates a severe safety risk of a sudden loss of propulsion on active roadways.

  • 2025 AUDI A5
    - Cumming, GA

The MMI infotainment head unit reboots spontaneously and repeatedly while the vehicle is in operation. The screen freezes, goes black, and restarts, reliably within 7-8 minutes of completing the previous boot. This repeats continuously for the duration of any drive. I have verified this is not related to a connected phone. I tested with three different phones on three different operating systems, and with no phone connected and powered off entirely. The reboot cycle occurs identically in all cases, whenever the vehicle is running. The critical safety failure: if the vehicle is placed in reverse near the time of a reboot, the crash disables all Parking Assist functions. The rear backup camera becomes fully inoperable while the vehicle is actively backing up, and the side cameras are sometimes lost as well. The Parking Assist system, including the backup camera, remains offline until the vehicle is shut off and left sitting for 15 to 30 minutes. There is no warning before this occurs. This means the federally mandated rear visibility system can and does fail without warning during the exact maneuver it exists to make safe. I have video documenting the backup camera being disabled while reversing. The vehicle has been to the dealer for these concerns. A software update was performed per Audi TSB on 3/27/2026 (RO 356075) and did not resolve the issue. The vehicle was diagnosed again 7/1/2026 through 7/9/2026 (RO 361320) and the dealer was unable to duplicate the concerns at that time. The reboot behavior has since become continuous and reproducible.

  • 2024 AUDI A5
    - Forney, TX

The contact owns a 2024 Audi A5. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with an unknown warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the parking brake actuator was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the brake pedal was loose while depressed. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where the parking lock solenoid (N486) was replaced; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the loose brake pedal failure. No additional repair was performed. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer a third time and the Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) was replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle had not been driven since the third repair, and that the contact was fearful of driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the case went to arbitration. The manufacturer's lawyer informed the contact that the failure was due to normal transmission wear and tear. The failure mileage was 22,916.

  • 2019 AUDI A6
    - Hopatcong, NJ

My 2019 Audi A6 was diagnosed with catastrophic internal engine failure on May 9, 2026 at Audi of Newton, Newton, NJ, at 93,645 miles. The vehicle required a full engine rebuild performed by REV Auto NJ at a cost of $12,000. The failure involved metal debris found in the engine oil, consistent with the documented EA839 3.0L V6 TFSI rocker arm needle bearing failure or piston skirt failure affecting this engine family. The EA839 engine used in this vehicle has a documented history of design defects: (1) Rocker arm needle bearings in early production engines were undersized and prone to disintegration, releasing metal debris into the oil supply and destroying camshaft lobes, balance shafts, and pistons. Audi silently revised the rocker arm part number three times (06M109417H -> 06M109417L -> 0P2109417), with the final revision featuring bearings twice the size of the originals - evidence of a known design defect. No recall was issued. (2) Audi of America issued a Piston Skirt Limited Warranty Extension in 2025 to 8 years/80,000 miles for EA839 piston failures. Independent engineering analysis by 034Motorsport, backed by laboratory testing, confirms that the EA839 piston design creates failure paths even under stock, unmodified conditions. Audi of America has not issued a safety recall for this engine failure pattern despite multiple documented failures across the A6, A7, A8, S4, S5, SQ5, Q7, and Q8 platforms sharing this engine. The failure mode - metal debris circulating through the lubrication system - poses a risk of sudden, complete engine loss while driving at highway speeds, creating an unreasonable safety risk to vehicle occupants and other motorists. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the EA839 3.0T engine for a potential safety-related defect and consider whether a recall is warranted across the affected model population. I have incurred $12,000 in repair costs for a defect that evidence strongly suggests is a design flaw, not a maintenance issue.

  • 2025 AUDI A6
    - Lake Arrowhead, CA

The contact owns a 2025 Audi A6. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle locked independently, trapping the driver and passengers inside. The failure occurred repeatedly; during the first two occurrences, unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a locking mechanism failure was diagnosed, and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was waiting to be towed to the dealer due to the same failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,017.

  • 2019 AUDI E-TRON
    - Mount Lauren , NJ

am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience with the service department at Audi of Cherry Hill concerning my Audi e-tron. My vehicle remained at your dealership for approximately four weeks, during which time no repairs or meaningful progress were made. Instead, I was informed that I would need to approve approximately $13,000 in diagnostic fees before the vehicle would even be inspected or touched. I find this completely unreasonable and unacceptable, particularly given that my vehicle sat idle at your facility for an extended period without any justification. In addition, I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service and conduct of an employee named Khern. He explicitly identified himself to me as a manager; however, after speaking with other staff members, I discovered he is not a member of management and works at the service intake desk. Furthermore, when I requested to speak with the actual service manager or another member of leadership to discuss my concerns, Khern actively refused to contact them or allow me to escalate the matter. As a customer, I expect honesty, transparency, and the ability to speak with management when a situation cannot be resolved at the front desk. Instead, I was misled, ignored, and left without assistance while my vehicle sat unrepaired for weeks. I request the following actions in response to this letter: A written explanation as to why my vehicle remained at the dealership for four weeks without any diagnostic progress or work being performed. A detailed, line-item justification for the approximately $13,000 diagnostic estimate presented to me before repairs would begin. An explanation regarding why frontline staff denied my explicit requests to speak with a dealership manager. A direct response from the actual Service Manager or General Manager addressing these concerns and outlining how this matter will be resolved.

Rear Suspension cross- member. Extensive corrosion hidden behind stone guard trapping dirt and moisture. I would not have known the rust was there if the stone guard had not come apart from the cross member I cannot trust the safety of this vehicle until it is repaired Audi requires a dealer inspection at the cost of the consumer. Audi Suspension cross member components are the same for many models. The Allroad should be included in the class action lawsuit.
