Without cause a passenger airbag malfunction light has come up, dealership says this is not covered under recall or vehicle warranty.

Last night, driving home from the airport, I stopped for a charge at an Electrify America charging station in San Diego, CA. Charging station ID is 200143-03. At the start of the charge, the port caught on fire, shot flames about a foot from the car. Obviously, after the flames subsided, I unplugged it. The DC high voltage pins are melted. I drove home without charging, driving slowly to maximize range and make it home. Luckily, I was not injured by the fire. The vehicle did not report any warnings, errors, codes, or anything. It seems functional. I have not attempted to charge it at home. I reported the incident when it occurred to Electrify America. Their case number is [XXX]. This morning I reported the incident to Audi USA. Their reference number is [XXX]. I informed the Audi representative that I would be making this report. The exact cause is unclear. It could be a problem with the charging station or its plug. However, it is clear that its safety systems did not detect the short circuit and stop the high voltage current from flowing. Curiously, there is also not a "big red button" to push on the charging station to shut it down (to prevent anyone else from using the station) - I had to ask the rep to remotely disable the station until their team could look at it. Or, it could be a problem with the vehicle. It has successfully charged several times at Electrify America (Audi's preferred vendor, because they are a Volkswagen company), and it charges nightly at home without issue. But perhaps something on the vehicle side caused the system to short circuit. At this time, I am awaiting guidance from the local Audi dealer on how to get it inspected. Audi informed me that even though there was an initiated safety recall, and there was a test of our vehicle that confirmed the problem that the recall had identified such that the fuel tank should be replaced, they have recalculated the parameters for the recall and after further testing decided that the vehicle now is no longer unsafe. We do not believe them.

Lamp: Electrical system malfunction: safely stop vehicle. I have read that they car would have next shut down and loss of control while driving.

The contact owns a 2010 Audi Q5. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart after refueling. Additionally, a fuel odor was detected while driving. The vehicle was towed to the residence, where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the dealer had previously replaced the fuel pump; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

The low pressure fuel pump, located in the fuel tank, shorted out and melted surrounding plastic housing. The pump is available for for inspection and has been verified by an independent service center. The vehicle and failed component have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance reps. Audi of America was contacted, but declined to inspect or pass the issue to technical representatives. There were no warning lights or messages. Symptoms included hesitation at startup.

After dealership did the second repair to the airbag recall, the airbag light came on and has been on solid . When taking the car back to The dealership to have it fixed ,We were clear about the whole thing over the phone .the dealership proceeded to charge me for a diagnostic test as well as claiming to not have seen any recalls on the car .dealership claimed the whole airbag needed to be replaced yet the car has never been in an accident. Bottom line The initial recall isn’t finished . Dealership explained car would be safe to drive , even tho the safety system is currently malfunctioning .

With out warning vehicle engine shut down in the middle of the highway causing loss of power to breaks and steering. Mechanics assessment states engine is mechanically or electrically blocked.
