I am reporting Audi Side Assist System fault. Audi assist among other things provides blind spot warning and is major safety feature in the car. Basically when I am switching lanes on, I get existance of car in blind spot. When driving in January I received warning message that said Audi Side Assist System fault. I scheduled service for Feb 3 and the car was repaired by Feb 4. Originally they suspected accident or repair work done around the back bumper. Later they realized that none was done and fixed the issue by "alignment". During that work they found out that the two assist modules have different versions which is surprising since all my service was done at Audi San Jose dealership and never repaired that function. This means that my car original parts has version mismatch. The function worked OK for several weeks but failed again on April 1. I still did not repair it but I am scheduled on May 10 (earliest date). The fault is still on!

All of a sudden around 75,000 miles oil consumption is extreme. We have to add 1 quart of oil every 3 weeks or ~700 miles. Dealer is asking for oil consumption test which costs $500 to determine the issue. There was a lawsuit for same issue against Audi, 126,000 were affeceted. We are facing exact same issue described in lawsuit. This was not an issue when car was newer. We bought the car brand new. Warning lamp that comes up "Oil Level, Please add max 1 qt oil, You can continue driving", this is happening more and more, approximately ever 3 weeks which isn't normal. I spoke to Audi Morton Grove (My Dealership) they were not able to assists because vehicle is out of warranty, advised to call Audi USA. Per Audi USA, our VIN # is not listed about known oil consumption issue. Contacting AUDI USA did not help.

  • 2011 AUDI A5
    - BRADENTON, FL

There was a fuel odor permeating in the vehicle, and the further I drove, the more intense was the gasoline smell. I pulled into a strip mall and turned off the engine for fear of a fire or explosion. I immediately called and requested the car be towed to my mechanic. My mechanic diagnosed the problem the next day as a cracked fuel pump housing. There were no warning lights at all. Given the location of the fuel pump, how does this dangerous incident happen?

Vehicle fuel pump fails intermittently even while actively engaged in driving. Engine stalled while driving putting me at risk for an accident. Issue was hard to diagnose because the fault would clear after an episode and reappear 300-400 miles after being driven again. Check engine light appears and then after allowing car to sit for a few hours, the car will start again. Sometimes the check engine light remains, other times it goes away on its own. Vehicle was inspected by Audi Little Rock and was performing as designed but issued occurred again 4 days after pickup. Currently the high pressure fuel pump is being replaced to try and solve the problem but vehicle can be made available for inspection if this does not resolve the issue. Since it is intermittently failing, issue hasn’t been duplicated during inspection. Incident has occurred approx 8 times since purchased in Jan 2022.

Timing chain, turbocharger and high pressure fuel pump has to be replaced for the car with 75000 miles on it. Was advised by the shop supervisor that it’s caused by faulty engine. That this type of damage is highly unlikely for the car under 100000 miles. Turbocharger is under extended warranty from the previous Audi recall.
