The rear doors have a Lock All button, which cannot be disabled with the driver side child lock, and no Unlock button in the rear doors. This is extremely unsafe, as the following scenario (which has happened to my wife several times) will illustrate: - Wife approaches car with our toddler - Places purse (containing key and phone) on front passenger seat in order to free up her arms to help load and secure our toddler into the rear car seat. For safety reasons, she does not place her purse outside the vehicle on the ground. - After our toddler is secure in his forward-facing car seat, she closes the door and circles the vehicle to get to the driver side door. - During that time, our toddler likely kicks the Lock All button by accident. The button is located about two inches to the right of his right foot. There is no Unlock button for him to hit and he cannot unbuckle his straps to free himself or reach the front seat. - My wife is then locked out, with our toddler inside the car. Yesterday was 92 degrees out. - This has happened at least 3 times. In the first instance, she was able to crawl through an open sunroof. In another instance, she was able to get someone in a parking lot to call me to come with the spare key. In the latest instance, she had to call the police to break the toddler out of the car. - We have family and friends who have had the same issue. In these cases, an older sibling was able to crawl to the front seat to unlock the door. Online message boards make this problem appear somewhat common. - Audi has been unwilling to help. They say my wife she keep the key on her at all times. This is not realistic and she often doesn't have pockets in a dress or skirt. - A toddler in rear seat should not have the ability to lock all doors, yet not be able to unlock any. There should be a way for a parent to at least disable this feature. According to Audi it is "operating as designed".

On the dark evening of 23 January 2021 a deer from the side of the Ohio Turnpike came onto the edge of my lane of roadway, did a Uturn and kicked the front fascia of my car. I slowed but couldn’t avoid the collision because of NHTSA rule Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108. I did not see the deer in time to slow further, which would have allowed emergency maneuvers. If I was driving this same car in Europe, or Canada or Japan, I would have Adaptive driving beams on my vehicle. There is often only seconds to act at night, at speed and the glare from oncoming drivers contributes to this lack of safety on American Roads. NHTSA has allowed Tesla to experiment with unproven technologies such as ‘AutoPilot’ on American retail vehicles, with LIDAR/RADAR, cameras, software and now the removal by TESLA of the LIDAR/RADAR functionality, which, allegedly, has resulted in deaths of drivers on US roads. However, NHTSA has been negligent by delaying passage of revisions to FMVSS 108 to allow ADBs on US Roads, a proven safety technology in the EU and around the world, requested by Toyota and MB and other manufacturers in 2013 and since. This is inexcusable on NHTSA part. This either represents incompetence or negligence on NHTSA part, since there has been insufficient regulatory revision in eight years! As a former Emergency Medicine Physician and now Radiologist who has traveled to Canada and the EU, and having cared for patients injured at night in vehicle crashes, as well as being involved in my own that could have been prevented, I can not understand the delay by NHTSA of eight years to complete this approval when the overwhelming evidence proves the technology of ADB not only safe and effective but enhancing safety of all concerned, including pedestrians. Here is a link to the most recent article supporting this proven technology: https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/we-need-to-legalize-adaptive-driving-beams-already-for-safety-s-sake/ar-BB1gUAhR

There is no where in the world to get 1 right now apparently. I bought a brand new battery and car still doesn’t pull energy from the battery so I’m scared the car won’t start very soon

The gas pedal must have been stuck, as the car raced across parking lot, into the first parked car there. that car was pushed into the next car, fortunately a big, sturdy car. and fortunately into the wheel of that next car. Also, fortunately, no people there at that time. I contacted my Audi dealer . they sent truck for pick-up by GUY TOWING LLC, tel.( 737) 333-7334. There were no warning signs before. Also, I had my car at Audi service earlier this year and paid ca. $6000.- for yearly overhaul and several repairs. To my knowledge, so far no inspection by anyone , but by the repair replace that the truck took my car to. Also, the 2 car owners of the cars hit by my car would have reported the incident to my car insurance company.
