I have a 2022 Buick Encore GX with 34,200 miles and I put my car in park but the dashboard said Shift to Park. I tried several times to put it in park but it wouldn't recognize it was in park. The car also wouldn't cut off. I reversed and went forward and back several times trying to put it in park, but it wouldn't see it was in park. I called the dealership and they said jam the gear shifter really hard forward and it would recognize it until they could see the car. The only appointments they had were 2 weeks away. I can't use my car for 2 weeks. That isn't right. It shouldn't have done this at 34,200 miles! Also if the computer doesn't think it's in park then it could roll and hit and injure a child, another car, people etc. GM/Chevorolet shouldn't build cars with known problems. This is a serious Safety issue. The car isn't safe.

I have a warning on my dash, "Service Brake Assist" that comes on and off, but will not stay on. The dealer says they can't identify the problem unless it stays on and then bring it in. I did some research and find a class action complaint suit in 4 different states, of several GM cars manufactured between 2017 - 2020. Mine is a 2019 Buick Envision. The class action suit identifies the "Brake Vacuum Pump" defect. The defect will be known, when you step on the brake, the pump fails by exploding, and you have little or no brake whatsoever. More than likely causing a car crash and potentially loss of life. So what am I to do ? Wait for the pump failure and CRASH! Please look into this situation and potiential save lives.

Transmission wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear and wouldnt shift into reverse. Has no power steering or power brakes

I am submitting this letter to formally report two ongoing issues with my 2018 Buick Enclave. First, I have experienced persistent problems with the emissions purge valve. My vehicle has repeatedly triggered diagnostic trouble code P0496, indicating a malfunction in the purge valve system. I am aware that this issue has been the subject of recall campaigns for other Buick Enclave models; however, my vehicle has not been included in any such recall, despite exhibiting the same symptoms. This malfunction has resulted in persistent check engine warnings and noticeable performance concerns, raising questions about emissions compliance and the overall reliability of my vehicle. Given that other vehicles of the same make and model year have been recalled for the same issue, I respectfully request that my vehicle be reviewed for inclusion in the recall. Second, I am formally reporting a malfunction involving the stabilizers. Recently, I have noticed unusual noises and instability when driving, particularly when turning or traveling over uneven surfaces, which indicates a potential stabilizer malfunction. These issues have persisted despite regular maintenance and inspections, affecting the handling and safety of the vehicle. I believe this may represent a manufacturing or design defect that could pose a risk to other owners of the same make and model. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this matter further. I kindly ask the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to consider expanding the existing recall to encompass additional vehicles affected by this defect. Due to defective LIN BUS 2 failure to read mass air flow sensor, vehicle suddenly goes into limp mode. This speed control issue is documented in GM Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) #22-NA-008 and PIP5934, 2022.

Two warming lights come on when I turn the steering wheel - the ABS and the stability control light. When I turn the steering wheel both of these lights turn on. I viewed a video about this problem and the suggestion was made that the problem could be a safety issue and that it might be corrected by setting the car on a level spot and then turning the key to the on position (but not starting it) and then turn the steering wheel as far as it would go to the right and then to the left as far as it will go. Then turn the key to turn the car on. The problem I had trying that was that the steering wheel seemed to be locked in its neutral position so I was unable to perform that fix.

Since purchasing this unit on 06/14/2025, I have taken this car in for many issues, including the digital dashboard going out multiple times and the AC unit stopping working. I have attached the service history ticket for your records. This unit is deemed to fall apart here shortly. Not even a year old, and the AC has already gone out 3-4 times. Most important is the dashboard that shows speed and other important information I will use to drive.

Driving and everything on my dashboard goes black. Also issues with false blind spot detections.

The contact owns a 2012 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a turn, the vehicle shut off in the middle of the roadway and the vehicle failed to restart. A bystander advised the contact to press the alarm button twice to restart the vehicle. The contact followed the advice of the bystander, and the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to Firestone, where an unknown diagnosis was made. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the dealer on several occasions. The dealer replaced the motor mounts, the engine oil, and other unknown parts; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Answer: I only have 34,200 miles on my 2022 Buick Encore GX and when I put my car in park, I get a warning message on the dashboard telling me "Shift to Park" but I am already in park and my car won't shut off. Why at 34,000 miles? 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Answer: What if the car thinks it isn't in Park and starts rolling hitting a child, another car, or building? 3.Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Answer: Yes, and it is a known issue with the make and model car I have a 2022 Buick Encore GX but no Recall has been made. This is dangerous and needs to be a recall. 4. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Answer: A "Shift to Park" message comes up on dashboard even though in the bottom right corner it has a P that it is in park. The computer doesn't recognize it's in park.
