I was driving on the freeway on Cruise Control going 80 mph. All the sudden my speedometer dropped and I had no power. My Transmission Light Started Blinking Cruise Control stopped working and my Car Started Shaking Violently and Sounded Clunky. I had to pull over to the shoulder immediately. I Called my Mechanic and he told me not to drive it any Further So we Towed the vehicle to his shop. There was absolutely no warning signs. This was the only sign something was wrong.

It had a rough idle and took it to the dealer. Cam shaft failure most likely due to faulty lifters and engine replacement needed. Similar to known issues on this year and on years that are involved in recall. This could lead to engine failure and loss of propulsion like the newer years. Car has been properly maintained and serviced at dealer.

It has been an ongoing issue for years concerning the dimness of the headlights on this vehicle. Virtually impossible to drive at night , can’t even see the lane markings with lights on dim. The cause was determined to be leaky seals creating corrosion. I replaced the bulbs myself and it made no difference. No recall was ever granted in spite of multiple complaints and filings with the NATSA. The Cadillac dealer is aware of the problem but has no authority to replace. I have had to let my relatives know of this issue in the event I were to be involved in a nighttime incident.

[XXX] My 2021 XT6 occasionally stumbles when accelerating from a stop, both when the engine is running or when it has auto stopped, only occasionally. If the car won't accelerate properly, it can cause a collision, especially if making a left hand turn at an intersection. It started happening about June 2025 and kept reoccurring more frequently as time passed. It was brought to a dealer early August, they said that it might be a bad battery, I installed a new battery on August 19, 2025, it was ok until late November 2025, then it started happening again. Yes, it can be inspected upon request. There were no warning lamps or messages, symptoms or problems prior to the failure. This has been happening about 6 months now. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) caused dangerous unintended acceleration. This model of vehicle has an ACC that maintains following distance from a leading vehicle. It will decelerate to a full stop and will resume after a full stop while maintaining a proper following distance when prompted by a brief push on the accelerator. At the beginning of this incident, my ACC was set to about 40 MPH and I was following the car in front of me. At a traffic light, I came to a full stop behind the leading car for 10-15 seconds. At this point, I realized that the left lane turn signal changed to green which would allow me to proceed. Since there was no traffic in that lane, I decided to move from my lane to the open left lane. I turned the steering wheel to go around the car in front of me into the left lane. I then briefly touched the accelerator. The result was that the car accelerated at a high pace. Since my foot on the accelerator initiated the event, it took me a second or so to move my foot to the brake and disable ACC. During the acceleration, I was able to steer into the left lane and make the subsequent left turn without incident. I'm unlikely to make this mistake again. However, I'm pretty certain that this sequence is easily repeatable should you want to test for it. This ACC behavior seems dangerous. I expect that resuming ACC while following a vehicle will result in acceleration. But if the car is pointed in a new direction while it is stopped, it seems inappropriate to allow the ACC to resume by tapping the accelerator. A better ACC behavior would disable the"resume after a full stop" functionally if the wheel is turned more that a few degrees after an ACC controlled full stop.

On December 19, 2023, when pulling out of a parking lot onto the street, pressing the gas vehicle jerked and would not accelerate. No lights on dash. Drove less than 1 minute and turned down a side street, to get out of traffic while going slow/no power. Stopped at stop sign, went thru intersection. Went to next intersection, at stop sign, vehicle shut off, in the middle of traffic. Still no dash lights. Vehicle would not start. Turned on hazard lights. While waiting for tow truck, tried cranking several times. After about 3 hours check engine light came on, with a red light to the right of check engine light. At the same time as the check engine, I received an alert via the Cadillac App 12V error, please crank vehicle. Each crank try, dashboard would light up/cycle but vehicle never started once it shut off. Tow truck driver thought it may be battery. Tried getting vehicle to crank. No joy. Towed to dealership which replaced Transmission in August 2025, 3395 miles ago to find my engine seized up after recall N252494000 PERFORMED, Picoscope test and oil type changed. NOW THIS. Patience is really being tried. Another month without vehicle. Payments are continuing.

Front differential case ripped in half and separated from the ring gear. The broken chunk of differential case and pinion was still attached to the driveshaft while coming to an abrupt stop. Damage done within driveshaft tunnel. No warning, no vibration, no cause for concern, just catastrophic failure. Differential and propeller shaft were replaced by an independent mechanic. Cadillac has not been notified as of today, receipt for repair available upon request.

THE VECHICE TRANSMISSION JERKS WHEN STARTS TO MOVE. SQEAKING NOISE IN THE CV JOINTS BOOTS, the shifts gears module stays in sports mode, will not stay on in regular mode. Defective sensors to send signal to OnStar alarm theft .

The trunk which operates by key fob only is no longer remaining open as it should. Instead the trunk will immediately upon opening begin to lower as very quickly. Once the automatic lowering hits the half way point, it will quickly close shut. This a liftgate issue/failure that has great potential to cause extreme harm to someone placing or retrieving items from the trunk; harm that has the potential to be fatal. This is the 2nd major safety issue that I've reported to GM (Cadillac) and no accountability has been taken. I've been told that they are aware of this issue (and the other) as they have been reported by other owners; however, they will love to offer money off if I purchased a new vehicle with them. This is absurd.

Initial repair of the vehicle was initiated on 9/12/25 due to a dashboard warning message indicating an air bag system fault. The Cadillac dealership was unable to complete the repair during the initial service visit. The vehicle was returned to the dealership in October 2025 and has remained there since that time. The dealership has confirmed that the Air Bag Front Passenger Sensor Kit (Part #23504893) failed following repair of the driver side air bag module. As a result of this failure, the passenger side air bag sensor does not function as designed. This condition creates a significant safety risk, as any passenger seated in the front passenger seat would be at increased risk of serious injury or death in the event of a collision. The issue has been inspected and confirmed by the authorized Cadillac dealership. I have been advised that this part is no longer manufactured by Cadillac and is unavailable for replacement, rending the vehicle unsafe to operate. I am the original and sole owner of the vehicle; whish has fewer than 50,000 miles. Based on the vehicle's age, mileage, and maintenance history, I reasonably expected many additional years of safe operation. Due to the confirmed air bag system failure and lack of available replacement parts, the vehicle cannot be safely driven and represents a major safety defect.
