2014 CADILLAC SRX- Helena, MT
?? Complaint: 2014 Cadillac SRX Dim Headlights Subject: URGENT SAFETY HAZARD AND DEFECT: Severely Dim Headlights on 2014 Cadillac SRX (Affecting 2010-2016 Model Years) – Failure to Act Despite Class Action and NHTSA Complaints Vehicle Information: * Year: 2014 * Make: Cadillac * Model: SRX * VIN [XXX] 4 * Owner/Complainant [XXX] r * Contact [XXX] [XXX] m 1. The Defect and Safety Hazard The headlights on my 2014 Cadillac SRX have become severely and progressively dim, constituting a major safety hazard for night driving. * Hazard: The lack of adequate light output dramatically reduces visibility, compromises the driver's ability to see obstacles, and increases the risk of a severe accident during operation at night, dusk, or in poor weather. This is a critical failure of a core safety component. * Cause: The root cause is a well-documented design flaw in the headlight assembly (affecting 2010-2016 models) that allows moisture to enter the sealed unit. This moisture degrades the internal reflective coating, permanently destroying the light's effective output. 2. Failure to Act Despite Known Issues General Motors (GM) and the appropriate safety regulators have been aware of this critical defect for years, yet no mandatory safety recall has been issued: * NHTSA Complaint History: According to public records, complaints regarding this exact issue have been "pouring in" for the last five years or more. The high volume of complaints clearly demonstrates a systemic, widespread, and dangerous failure across this vehicle platform. * Class Action Lawsuits: This defect has been the subject of class action litigation against General Motors, further establishing that the company is fully aware of the design flaw and the resulting safety hazard. 3. The Unacceptable Repair Burden I am being forced to bear the cost of replacing the defective assembly with a new part that utilizes the same fundamentally flawed design. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2018 CADILLAC XT5- Edmond, OK
Brakes failure. Approaching a busy intersection and facing a red light, I slowed and prepared to stop the vehicle. Nothing happened with regard to braking; instead, the engine seemed to rev up as it continued through the red-lighted intersection with 2 lanes of busy cross traffic from both directions. That there was not a collision is a miracle. I also noticed some flashing displays on the display screen, though hard to take time to read them while avoiding a crash and still trying to stop the car, but I believe they referenced "parking assist." My husband came and drove the car to the dealership (about 3 mi.), and during that drive, there was no braking issue but a Parking Assist readout suddenly appeared, and he was able to return the screen to the map; then a few minutes later, while driving under 20 mph near the dealership there was a notice about "maximum speed" being reached and "parking assist" being somehow reactivated. Vehicle currently at dealership for analysis. Side note: this is our second Cadillac to exhibit this problem -- there should be an NHTSA report on the first (April 2025) -- a 2013 SRX, in which there was a parking lot collision that totaled the vehicle.

2023 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Cranberry Township, PA
The contact owns a 2023 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormally loud motor sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle unexpectedly shut off while in a parking lot and failed to restart after several attempts. The contact was picked by her husband. The contact stated that her husband later returned to the vehicle and was able to restart the vehicle. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair and passed a vehicle inspection, and the dealer added a higher viscosity oil, installed an oil fill cap, replaced the oil filter, and updated the Owner’s Manual. The contact stated that two weeks later, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic inspected the vehicle and discovered there was no oil in the engine. The contact was informed that the vehicle was unsafe to operate. The dealer that had serviced the recall was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was serviced according to the recall. The mechanic informed the contact that the dealer had possibly drained the oil and refilled it with 0W-40 oil to pass the recall inspection and not have to replace the engine. The contact asked the dealer if the practice was performed during the recall repair, and the dealer avoided answering the question. The contact stated that a service member from the dealer arrived at the residence to top off the engine oil. The dealer suggested that an oil consumption test be performed every 1,000 miles to monitor the oil consumption. The contact stated that the recall remedy was insufficient and failed to properly address the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

2025 CADILLAC XT6- Peoria, AZ
The rear camera blanks out when backing out of driveway into the sun. It prevents me from seeing cross traffic and pedestrians. The dealer looked at the system and said it something I had to live with. This seems to be an intermittent problem, as sometimes it suddenly starts to work, or when I back into the street over the curb gutter. If I back the vehicle into the garage and drive out into the sun, the front camera is not affected by the sun. I feel this is a safety hazard to pedestrians and other vehicles. The dealer seems very indifferent to the problem

2023 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Jacksonville, FL
On 09-15-25, My 2023 Cadillac Escalade passed the PicoScope test that was performed at the Randy Marion Cadillac Dealership, located at 4700 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl., in reference to the 6.2 engine recall. After the engine oil change and oil filler cap replacement, the dealership failed to provide the insert for the owner's manual and had no idea what I was talking about. As a result, I'm asking that an owner's manual insert be mailed to my home address. Thanks!

2025 CADILLAC OPTIQ- sanford, NC
On November 24, 2025, I discovered that multiple connected and safety-related systems on my 2025 Cadillac Optiq had stopped functioning. We believe a GM over-the-air software update was installed the weekend prior, and the dealer has inferred that the update may have caused the failure. We brought the car into the dealership on November 26th. The car was "fixeed" and we picked it up on December 2nd. Before we were able to leave the lot, the telematic system broke again. The dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the telematics module had failed. We left the vehicle at the dealership,. There were no warning lights, error messages, or other indications before the failure occurred. After the failure, several critical safety and driver-assistance systems became inoperable or severely impaired. These include, but are not limited to: OnStar emergency services Automatic crash notification Steering assistance Cruise and speed control Lane-change and driver-assist systems GPS and navigation functions Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and vehicle internet connectivity Although the vehicle is technically drivable, the loss of these systems poses a significant safety risk to occupants and others on the road. The vehicle cannot contact emergency services in a collision, cannot send diagnostic data, and lacks essential driver-assistance and navigation capabilities. The dealer has confirmed the problem, but the replacement telematics module is currently backordered with no clear timeline, and they stated the delay could last weeks or longer. Because the failure appears to have been caused by a GM-issued OTA update, and because essential safety systems are offline, I am concerned about both the defect itself and the extended inability to repair it due to unavailable parts. UNKNOWN whether GM has conducted a broader inspection or analysis of this update or component, but the failure has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer’s service department.

2015 CADILLAC SRX- Atkinson , NH
My headlights have deteriorated to the point that the vehicle can’t be driven at night. GM/Cadillac acknowledged this as a problem with this particular model. I sent an email to the Cadillac CEO, Rory Harvey. I received a call from an executive assistant stating that this issue was addressed prior to my report. I stated I could not use the vehicle at night due to safety issues. Her response was to offer me a discount on a new purchase. My vehicle now has a significant safety issue. The Cadillac dealer quoted my a price of $2,600 to replace the headlights.
