2022 CAN-AM RYKER- Seneca, PA
I got a VSS fault code (C0063) that sent my Ryker into a limp home mode which greatly reduced the speed at which I could travel. This code indicates a problem reported from the yaw sensor. Had I been on an Interstate highway, this could have possibly been a serious situation. I was about 10 miles from home but made it home safely. This fault code seems to be a recurring problem to many Ryker owners and I feel that BRP should either make a new sensor, eliminate it completely or look at the overall design of the vehicle to possibly discover a flaw in the frame, etc. This code can only be removed by taking the vehicle to a reputable dealer that has the proper equipment to do it and unfortunately these dealers are few and far between. The closest one to me is 50 miles.

2021 CAN-AM RYKER- Keswick, VA
I have a 2021 Can Am Ryker Rally. At approximately 3,000 miles I noted that when in a left turn the rear tire beings to wobble back and forth. During this time the throttle becomes unresponsive and reduces power. Example, I can be in a gradual left turn going 40 PMH and when the wobble begins, it will drop the speed to around 25 MPH. When I come out of the turn, power returns and the bike return to normal. During this transition, you have to be ready for this as it can be very unexpected as you are fighting the handlebars to go left. During each event I don’t get a fault code. I’ve been living with it as I figured that was just how the Ryker was. However, I had someone following me recently and they witnessed it and commented that something was not normal. So, I called dealers and Can Am. No one had heard of what I was describing. I began to look into it and noted that it might be a yaw rate sensor problem. Took it to a dealer where they said there was no fault code so they couldn’t do anything. I suggested resetting the Yaw Rate Sensor, which they did. About 10 miles from the dealership on I 81 in the passing lane, going uphill with a semi behind me and 2 to the right, the bike went into Limp Home Mode. The speed roller back unexpectedly. With a lot of arm waving and kind truck drivers, they let me in so I could get off at the exit. Drove it back to the dealer where they noted a Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) fault. Ride back home was uneventful until I was exiting I81 South and getting on I 64 East which is a gradual left turn. I was 2/3 into the turn with no issues so I was happy that it looked like it was fixed. Then the back brake locked up for a split second which startled me and to keep it into the turn I had to correct with the handlebars. Quite frankly, I almost lost control of the bike. My Ryker is parked and will not move again till I get an appropriate repair from Can Am as it is not safe.

2022 CAN-AM RYKER- San Antonio, TX
Rear uncontrollable shaking, swaying on slow low 40mph gradual cornering. Caused VSS Limp mode fault. Codes C0063 and C006C. Almost lost control of the Ryker, Seems traction control or the yaw sensor is intermittently active when cornering. This time it went into limp mode.

2018 CAN-AM SPYDER F3- FORT MILL, SC
Shifting / stalling problems: 2018 F3L SE6 **Problem has occurred using each of my 2 Spyder keys Problem definition: At times, bike stalls while driving...begins shaking and remains in last gear prior to the stall. Gear shown in Display does not change from gear it was last in when bike stalled out. Orange exclamation point ! (Vehicle Malfunction) appears on lower left corner of Display and the last gear the bike was in prior to stalling still appears on Display. The gray banner, Transmission Fault also flashed quickly on Display for 2 of the 4 total fault occurrences. This happened when I was traveling in higher gears, approx. RPM at 3900-4200, as in 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gear. It stalls with no power to throttle and loss of shifting. **What I do to clear error – so far: Pull off road, turn bike key off, wait a few minutes, remove / reinsert key. Sometimes had to do the re-start procedure 2-3 times before display error clears. ONLY if Display error is cleared do I have power on the engine. Sometimes can start bike with error still in display, but have NO POWER from throttle to engine. Stalling issues happened to me: 7/31/22, 08/04/22, 08/17/22. Dealer duplicated issue - see invoices. BRP Can-Am: had dealer "reprogram"? or update the VCM, and to clean the HCM.

2019 CAN-AM SPYDER F3- Parkland , FL
Recall issues for the following vehicle [XXX] 2019 Can Am Spyder F3 have contacted vehicle manufacturer and dealership for an estimate on the repair of this vehicle. Manufacturer and dealership do not have components for this recall and offer no solutions to correct this situation. 2022 CAN-AM RYKER- Denton, TX
The contact owns a 2022 Can-Am RD Ryker. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stationary, the key used to lock the gear shifter had popped out of position which caused the vehicle to crash into his neighbor's two parked vehicles. The contact was not injured and did not seek medical assistance. A police report was not filed. The contact notified the manufacturer and a complaint was filed. The contact was instructed to return the vehicle to the dealer; however, since the return of the vehicle, the contact had yet to hear a response. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

2022 CAN-AM RYKER- San Jose, CA
This motorcycle continues to go into "Limp Mode". This has happened now two times with no explanation from the manufacture as to why. The bike will lose engine power and immediately drop to speeds no higher than 55mph. This was advised to dealer and they were very familiar with this, and initially told me the repairs were denied by BRP, but that they covered the issue and fixed it. Less than 1 week later, the same thing happened. The check engine light comes on and the gauges read VSS Fault, Limp Mode. This is very unsafe as there is no explanation as to why this happens and engine power is loss at any given moment. I fear riding the bike on the freeway at high speeds and this happening and potentially causing me to be hit by another vehicle from the immediate loss of power. This is a well known issue and I don't feel this bike is safe for the road.

2022 CAN-AM RYKER- Mohawk, TN
The contact owns a 2022 Cam-Am Ryker. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V503000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

2020 CAN-AM RYKER- Westmont, IL
The contact owns a 2020 Can-Am Ryker motorcycle. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering column fractured and the handlebars detached, causing the motorcycle to fail to shift gears. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

2020 CAN-AM SPYDER RT- Cushing, TX
The Spyder brake switch started failing with less than 14K miles on the vehicle. The driver my wife, did not know it was failing, only an engine code VSS would appear and the vehicle would go into limp home mode, until it could be restarted. Checking online forms, there were several post about the brake switch. I check in our garage and discovered I could push the brake pedal and sometimes there would be a two second delay before the lights would come on. Pressing harder on the brakes made them flicker on and off. At times only half the brake lights would come on. The brake switch is located four inches off the pavement and exposed to road grime. The piston only has an O-ring and lacks a rubber boot to keep debris from entering the switch. (Like my Harley Davidson motorcycle has.) The brake switch part # 710005480 is about $45 and an two hours labor to install. The new replacement switch is #710008326, but it looks just like the switch I took off the Can Am Spyder. Some of my research showed that this brake switch has been used on most if not all Spyders and Ryker motorcycles produced by Can Am in the last few years. I did post this issue on a Spyder Facebook group and within 24 hours eight people stated they had the same issue with their new Spyder, which was repaired under warranty. I just believe it's a bad design for an exposed part four inches off the pavement. Also my wife stepping on the brakes and the brake lights not working for two seconds put her in danger of being struck by another vehicle.
