2015 CHEVROLET COLORADO Complaints

Truck will have issues with misfires or rough idle. Technician advised that the truck has excessive intake valve carbon which is a known issue for 2015 - 2016 colorado and stated their is a bulletin for this know issue. However, this is not a recall even if they know this is something known that happens.

Unknown- the radio changes stations without being touch and GPS is not working correctly making travel unsafe and it changes all settings without being touched like vehicle and everything that's connected to it.

I lost power steering on 12/18/22. Informed by dealership that although a power steering loss is a problem that has resulted in a recall for 2015 chevy colorado trucks that this is a different problem. The power steering control module was replaced part number 84670807 sr

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the power steering failed to operate as needed. The contact used more than a normal effort to steer the vehicle. The contact pulled off the highway and stopped the vehicle, shifted to park(P), and turned the vehicle off and on. The contact stated that the power steering then started operating as needed. The contact stated that the steering failure became a recurring failure. The contact stated that an unknown message was displayed. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V213000 (Steering). The dealer replaced the steering gear torque sensor. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the failure recurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

power steering fails intermittently, at random. sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. has failed on vehicle start, and during driving. 4wd, crew cab, long bed. according to NHTSA website vehicle has no open recalls, even though there is a recall for this (2015) make and model.

Power steering went out as I turned left in an intersection. This happened a couple of times. Power steering completely went out, had to get towed, cost about $2400.

Beginning in 2018, perhaps earlier, I noticed that often when I would press the accelerator all the way, the engine would (and still does) make a sound (I’ve since learned, through many dealership interactions and internet searches, that the sound is referred as pinging or knocking from pre-detonation), and it SEEMED that the car’s computer would (and still does) electronically back off the throttle, and the rpm’s reduced in terms of speed of acceleration (sometimes the rpm’s even DECREASED as opposed to merely increasing less rapidly). This has placed myself and passengers of the car in danger by causing the car to go through intersections significantly slower than I (as well as my mother who also occasionally drives the car) would naturally anticipate, as this slow crossing through the intersection has led to many close-calls when intersecting traffic (when they have the right-of-way) almost crash into the broad side of the truck. It USED to occur I would put in any fuel with an octane rating lower than 91, but now it even happens with 91 octane fuel. The problem has been reproduced by two Chevrolet dealerships. I have taken it in many times to have them repair/replace/service parts that I thought might be causing the problem. The shop foreman at one location replicated it and said he had no idea what the cause could be. The service dept. was then in back-and-forth contact with engineers at GM over the next couple of days, and the engineers eventually suggested an oil system flush thing (which ended up not helping). It’s had oil filter changes, fuel induction service, and basically everything short of replacing the injectors or pistons. Neither the vehicle nor its components have been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No warning lamps or messages have ever displayed in relation to the problem. My co-worker’s husband has a 2018 GMC Canyon with a V6, and says the exact same thing happens with his car.

Had Power Steering Assist disable, traction assist disable and drive with caution warning lights several times while driving. No consistency in driving conditions, road conditions, etc. just random failures. Took truck to dealership to have the problem addressed - the code found was power steering gear failure. Had no choice but to have it repaired before an accident occurred as truck became very difficult to steer when the problem happened and the frequency had increased to nearly every other day.

When i startup my truck and after a few minutes the stabilitrak light turns on and my steering locks up and a message stating loss of power steering comes out and it happens every single time i turn it on. A recall was perform a couple years back on loss of steering assist recall number was 15595A i’m not fully satisfied that it was done correctly and supposedly an aligment was also supposed to be performed i contacted the agency and they’ve said they can do anything about it since “it has already been taken care of” i’m wondering if you guys can do anything about it since it was a recall that was sent out from your end.

While driving on the highway, my vehicle show battery light and then hi temp due to a loose belt, after stopping on the shoulder of the highway, I inspected the engine compartment and found out that the air condition compressor bracket broke, I tow the vehicle back home and try to repair the broken part but I found out that Chevrolet has discontinue this part, no Chevrolet dealer, no third party and/or any auto part sales the broken part. I called Chevrolet and they told me to call dealer but I had no luck. My 2015 Colorado truck is parked on my driveway for the last 2 months. Chevrolet dealer can't help me since they say that Chevrolet discontinue the part. So, what can I do? how Chevrolet can help me with this query?
