2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Complaints

Additionally, the engine was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact had to add seven quarts of oil for every 3,000 miles driven. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system had failed. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Just few minutes ago around 5:45 PM, Monday, September 8th 2025. I started my engine with the remote start in my drive way. After about 30 seconds there was a series of 3 or 4 violent explosions each with a 1 or two second interval. The driver side, passenger side and both side air bags deployed fracturing my windshield and causing other potential internal damage to the passenger compartment. I feel very fortunate that I wasn't seated in the vehicle at the time as I'm sure I could have been severely injured or potentially killed. I had taken the car in for an air-bag recall a couple of years ago at Good Chevrolet in Renton, WA.

No crank no start however engine just shit down while driving immediately lost all control of vehicle! Luckily I had just pulled off highway! No warning whatsoever it just happened out of no where now won’t start and has a u0100 code

There was a low oil pressure warning light along with lifter tick prior to failure and first appeared at around 160k miles.

MY FRAME RAIL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS CORRODING AWAY TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE / I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE GM DEALERSHIP TO VERIFY THE CONCERN / I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THIS CONCERN AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND / I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS COSTED MY TIME AND MONEY TO PURCHASE / AND MAINTAIN / THIS TRUCK RUNS GREAT AND SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF LASTING MANY MORE YEARS - EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THE FRAME RAIL IS CORRODING AWAY IN THE SAME SPOT ON THIS TRUCK AS ON OTHER GM TRUCKS FROM THIS YEAR AND MODEL RANGE . I BELIEVE GM DESIGNED A FAULTY FRAME/ I BELEIVE THE FRAMES ON THESE TRUCKS WERE NEVER TREATED TO RESIST THE ELEMENTS /
