While driving this rental vehicle in traffic it shutdown and came to an abrupt halt. All lights on the dash were flashing, emergency hazard lights would not turn on. Attempted to restart vehicle with no result. After 2 minutes vehicle dash lights went off and hazard lights were able to be turned on. Vehicle then restarted. Driving down a street we heard a loud boom almost sounded like something exploded We looked around but saw nothing. Then started hearing noises from the sunroof Sure enough it had exploded Not cracked And it is smashed outwardly not in therefore not something that hit it or caused impact from the outside in. We researched it and seems to be a known ongoing issue. Very dangerous as it is happening more and more. It definitely startled us and could have been a scary situation if we had been on the highway. Also dangerous if that glass falls on you while driving.

This is a brand new vehicle with a known problem to GM yet they keep selling them and admit they cannot fix it. The audio system, including the blinker sound, is warning systems and hands free phone capabilities do not work properly, if at all. This is a distraction while driving - especially when it comes to phone use. It is deceptive and putting public safety at risk, not to mention costing consumers thousands of dollars. Their built in safety system (onstar) cannot be accessed due to lack of audio rendering it useless in a crash/emergency which is a selling point they tout. I do have video of this occurring. Dealership says they cannot repair and that consumers are just stuck with expensive vehicles they cannot rely on.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the "service safety restraint system", warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic was performed; the diagnostic showed that there was a defect in the overhead module which rendered her airbag ineffective. The contact was informed that the part to repair the vehicle was on backorder and was given a time estimate of six weeks after the diagnostic was performed. The contact recently called the dealer and was informed that part was still unavailable and that there was no longer an ETA on the part. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 15,000.

We have a chevy with the 6.2 V8 engine. First we were at a stop light on the highway and the car shifted into Neutral and would not come out for two light cycles. My wife and children were stuck at the light with car's swerving around them at 65+. Finally it shifted into Drive. We called the Chevy dealership and they said it would be a month before they could look at the car and there were no check engine warnings. Two days later my wife and family were driving down the highway and suddenly it started making a flapping sound from the engine bay and was losing power. She pulled over and turned off the vehicle to see if that changed anything. The car would not restart and the check engine light was on (solid not flashing) it would just try to turn over with no success. We had it flat bed towed to the chevy dealership where they told us the engine was blown and that it had thrown a rod. We have 3900 miles on the vehicle and I would say this is a significant safety issue given that it can disable the vehicle on a busy highway.

This Tahoe comes with a full size spare. This model includes Brembo front brakes. The included spare cannot be installed/mounted to the front axle as the wheel is undersized and will not fit over the brake calipers. None of my ordering information nor MSRP label or model information on Chevrolet.com points out the included spare tire/wheel cannot be used in all positions of the SUV. Finding this out at 5am in the dark and drizzle of a cold Michigan morning on the side of US23 southbound is not the least bit safe.

Intermittent loss of sound on all electrical aspects of vehicle. Can not hear music, phone calls, blinker, seat belt signal, crash detection sound. None will work. Even after turning off and turning back on issue remains unless vehicle is off for 15-30 minutes then it will reboot !
