"Shift to park!" Keeps coming up on my dash, and sometimes nothing works. I get this message every time I park just about.

We have major paint chipping and peeling issues, the gear selector will not recognize park at times and we have had the catalytic converter replaced in the 2.5 years of owning (we are the only owners).

My 2019 Chevy Traverse was purchased new in August of 2018. It has approx 34,500 miles on it as of 7/26/21. Tire size: 255/55 R 20 107H. The vehicle has been in for regular maintenance/service at the original dealership since it was purchased. Around March 2021, I noticed the outside tread on all 4 tires becoming brittle and breaking off. There are small chunks of the tread missing and some type of thread showing where the chunks have come off. I went to my local Costco and the associate in the tire department told me that I should not be driving on it because the tires could blow. I wanted a second opinion and went to my local Discount Tire. The associate told me that what was happening was called "chunking" and it was not common (actually rare to happen) and I should call Continental Tire. No alarms/warning lamps have gone off due to this issue.

Shift to Park alert and gear parking issue. This is a big issue with GM cars/SUVs after I searched online. Looks like a manufacturer parts’ defects in gear box.

When placing the car in park, a "shift into park" warning appears on the dashboard even though the vehicle is actually in park. The problem appears to be a shift relay that is not making contact with the metal tab that depresses the sensor telling the computer the vehicle is in fact in park. Not thinking the car is in park can cause a driver to panic the car is going to roll into another car, fixed object or another person. This problem has been confirmed multiple times and there is currently a GM bulletin out on the problem. The fix is to replace the entire shift assembly at the owner's cost - $500. The only warning message received is '"shift into park".

PURCHASED 3/1/2019 PROBLEMS SINCE 4/18/2019 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING. REMOTE LEFT IN VEHICLE WARNING WHEN NO KEY IN VEHICLE, REAR VIEW MIRROR OVERHEATING (OVER 110*) CELLPHONE CHARGING PORT OVERHEATING, BLIND SPOT DETECTION MALFUNCTIONING, FORWARD COLLISION DETECTION MALFUNCTIONING, NAVIGATION AND IPHONE AUDIO CONNECTIONS MALFUNCTIONING. MIRROR WAS REPLACED ONCE. REAR CAMERA WAS REPLACED TWICE. THIS WAS AFTER A GM SERVICE PERSON WAS SENT DOWN TO ROTOLO TO LOOK INTO IT. SINCE THEN NOTHING HAS BEEN REPAIRED. SERVICE REPS KEEP SAYING THEY CAN'T GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS. WE HAVE VIDEO AND PHOTOS OF ISSUES. MATT WOLF WAS THE GM INVESTIGATOR. HE NEVER RETURNS CALLS/EMAILS. YESTERDAY AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO DIFFERENT GM DEPARTMENTS, I WAS INFORMED HE NO LONGER WORKS WITH THE COMPANY. THE LAST THING I WAS TOLD WAS TO WAIT FOR A CALL TO BRING THE VEHICLE INTO ROTOLO SO ANOTHER GM SERVICE PERSON WOULD BE SENT. THAT WAS OVER 2 MONTHS AGO. SINCE NO ONE HAS CALLED I SCHEDULED ANOTHER SERVICE FOR SAT. VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN AND HAS TO SIT PARKED. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. PROBLEMS ONGOING SINCE 4/2019.

WHEN TURNING OFF THE TRAVERSE, A "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE IS BEING DISPLAYED DESPITE THE VEHICLE BEING IN PARK WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW THE INTERNAL ELECTRONICS (SUCH AS THE RADIO) TO TURN OFF WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. SOMETIMES SHIFTING OUT OF AND BACK INTO PARK OR HITTING THE BUTTONS ON THE SHIFTER FIX THE PROBLEM. RESEARCH SHOWS THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 GM SERVICE BULLETINS WHICH COVER A NUMBER OF THEIR DIFFERENT VEHICLES. SERVICE IS SCHEDULED WITH THE DEALER TO FIX, BUT MILEAGE PUTS IT JUST OUT OF WARRANTY, SO WE'LL SEE HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE FOR THIS MANUFACTURING/DESIGN DEFECT.
