2023 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE Complaints

The car is equipped with an automatic light feature designed to activate in low-light conditions, such as early mornings or evenings. However, the system only triggers when it is completely dark. Even in very low sunlight, the lights do not turn on, which can be dangerous as the car may not be fully visible on highways

I am filing this complaint due to a recurring exhaust leak in the front exhaust pipe of my 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, which poses a potential safety hazard. During the vehicle’s bumper-to-bumper warranty period, Freedom Chevrolet in San Antonio replaced a leaking front exhaust pipe (receipt attached), a known issue covered by a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for earlier model years (2018–2022) but not for the 2023 Traverse. Less than two years later, with the vehicle now at approximately 84,000 miles, the front exhaust pipe has failed again, exhibiting the same leak issue. This recurring defect is concerning because exhaust leaks can allow carbon monoxide and other harmful gases to enter the vehicle cabin, posing a risk of poisoning or impaired driver awareness, especially during extended operation. Additionally, the issue may contribute to environmental hazards due to improper emissions control. Despite my requests for assistance from Freedom Chevrolet and GM Customer Care, I have not received a satisfactory resolution, and the repair cost falls on me as the vehicle is out of warranty. I am aware of complaints and TSBs documenting similar exhaust leak issues in Chevrolet Traverse models from 2018–2022, including a recall for the 2019 model year (NHTSA ID: N222385510), suggesting a systemic issue that may extend to the 2023 model. The lack of a TSB or recall for the 2023 Traverse leaves owners like myself vulnerable to repeated failures and safety risks.

The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the alternator. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

I was driving south on [XXX] north of [XXX] when a blue Dakota pulled out in front of me. I did not have time to stop or swerve. The Emblem of the airbag cut my left hand and fingers, tore the tendon in my thumb and hand, and sprained my left wrist. The contact's wife noticed that the rear passenger’s side brake light and signal light failed to work as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake light had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and made an abnormal sound. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on 4 separate occasions. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

The contact owned a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH going north on [XXX] towards [XXX] , another vehicle made a sudeen left turn. As a result, the vehicle T-boned the vehicle that was making a left turn, then the contact's vehicle came to a stop, and the other vehicle was flipped over. There were no warning lights illuminated.The air bag deployed, the cover corner then cut the contact hand and tore her tendons. The contact suffered injuries to the chest when she impacted the steering wheel, her heart was bruised, and the bottom of her lungs collapsed. The contact was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. A police report was filed. The contact was still receiving medical attention and physical therapy. There were no other people injured in the accident. The vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where unknown repairs were completed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Unknown if this vehicle qualifies for the retrofitting of rear and front parking sensors.

When driving transmission slips and goes into wat feels neutral....also when shift from park to any gear there is a click coming from front of vehicle
