2020 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE Complaints

Prematurely damaged exhaust system. Identical to Special Coverage Adjustment N212356540 Front Exhaust Pipe but my dealer and GM says that my VIN it’s not coveted

The car violently shudders when it attempts to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. This happens every time I drive the car and I'm unsure what's wrong with it. I am unable to accelerate quickly when attempting to drive on the highway or when making a turn and am afraid of being hit because it won't accelerate shift gears as it should. I've taken it to the Chevy dealership twice, and the issue was not addressed as requested so, I researched online and learned that this is a common issue in Chevy Traverses, and it doesn't seem to be fixed, even after dealership intervention. I'm wondering if this is why the dealership is hesitant to address the issue. I am concerned for my family's safety.

On [XXX], while driving, the steering wheel suddenly became very stiff, making it extremely difficult to turn right or left. A warning message appeared on the dashboard that read: "Reduced Steering Assist." I immediately took the vehicle to a certified dealership, where it has now been sitting for over two months. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not been provided with a clear repair date. When I contacted the manufacturer, I was informed that the required part is currently on backorder, but again, no estimated time of resolution has been given. During this extended wait, I have been forced to rent a car to manage my daily responsibilities, and so far I’ve accumulated close to $1,000 in rental expenses. My case number is: [XXX]. I am requesting the following: 1. A clear update regarding the repair status of my vehicle. 2. Urgent assistance in obtaining the necessary replacement part. 3. Reimbursement or compensation for the rental car expenses caused by the extended delay, which has not been my fault. I trust that General Motors values its customers and the reliability of its vehicles, and I hope for a prompt and fair resolution to this matter. Mounting bracket on front exhaust pipe separated from the exhaust pipe while driving.

Unknown to some, but yesterday Saturday around 12:30 I was inspecting the speaker ports in the rear 3rd row passenger area and I noticed these square tabs that says airbags, also in the very middle of second row the same thing but in the rear I was removing one of the mouldings to see why the speakers were not playing, upon inspection there are no speakers and neither are there any form of side and or rear collision safety devices ( airbags) other than seatbelts. If that truck were in an accident say like a T-Bone, or rear end collision, or side rear impact no one is guaranteed safely making out without adverse affects on their bodies and health. I'm starting to wonder if this traverse was salvaged and or restored. Why are there no safety features in this truck?!!

Front exhaust pipe broken causing check engine light and vehicle to sound rough. It is an emissions issue. This has been confirmed with a dealership. The issue started around middle of March 2025 when check engine light came on.

TRANSMISSION CHATTER AND SLIPPING. I WAS NOT ABLE TO SECURE AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED. ATTEMPTED TO CALL GM FOR ASSISTANCE AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR DIAGNOSIS AND COULD NOT ASURE ME OF ANY ASSISTANCE AND SINCE I HAD A DIFFERENT ISSUE WITH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DUE TO FAULTY CATALYTIC CONVERTER THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS CHARGED AND DID NOT GET MY MONEY BACK, I WENT A DIFFERENT ROUTE. THE DEALER ACTUALLY WANTED TO CHARGE ME TO REPLACE THE CONVERTER. i HAD MY TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AT AAMCO $6000.00. KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS BY MANUFACTURER.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked abnormally and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the message "Shift into Neutral, and Start Vehicle" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer; where the fuel injectors were cleaned; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while attempting to use the Push-To-Start feature, the vehicle hesitated to start. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys for a second opinion, where it was diagnosed, and several unknown error codes were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V639000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

Had noticed a rattle every time when I start the vehicle.I got under and had located a broken front exhaust hanger. A few week later I noticed a different sound coming from under the vehicle. I go back to the under side and locked the exhaust flex pipe has now ripped at the front exhaust bracket. Mine being a 2020 isn't coved by the 2019 or the 2021 special coverage. Chevrolet needs to fix this issue.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic convertor had failed needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.
