The 8-speed transmission has been a problem from day 1 of owning this truck. It has a bad vibration, slips into gear and hard shifts. I have maintained this truck to the fullest and have done all service to the fluids as requested by the manufacturer. I have never pulled a trailer, and I want The NTHSA to make all Chevrolet products that have this 8-speed transmission recalled. GM should make this right. These vehicles aren't cheap.

  • 2021 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN
    - Crosby, TX

Went into limp mode on 11/6/25, took to the dealership where they found metal shavings in the oil due to a “stuck solenoid ‘A’”. Originally said that I’d need a whole new transmission, decided to do the cheaper easier repair and just replaced the valve train (not my choice) got it back on 11/13/25. On 11/24/25 I was on a very busy highway, at a red light, hit the gas when the light changed and the car didn’t move. Just revved the RPMs, then it suddenly lurched/surged forwards. Took it back to the dealership and they said “it doesn’t have any codes showing”. This is not normal behavior for a 4 year old vehicle with less than 40k miles on it.

  • 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE
    - Columbia, SC

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving approximately 46 MPH, a Chevrolet Impala rear-ended the vehicle, causing the vehicle to flip over and slide into the woods. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to exit the vehicle at first but was later able to exit through the rear window. The driver was able to walk out of the woods to the highway to obtain assistance. Upon research, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V372000 (Air Bags). The air bag warning light was turning on and off days prior to the failure. There was an abnormal odor coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that several air bags deployed, trapping the contact in the vehicle. The contact sustained an extremely deep gash on her leg from the air bag. Medical attention was provided at the hospital. There was no reported fire. A Police report was filed but was not provided to the contact. The vehicle was towed to an unknown location. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was not available.

  • 2026 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE
    - Carmel, IN

Purchased the car in August 2025 and have had into service 3 years for the same issues. When driving the car, the RPM will get "stuck" between 5-6 when only driving 20-30 mph. Once I slow down/brake, it will jump into a park effect, but still be in drive. The car has been inspected by Chevy 3 times, but they can't get any fault code on the vehicle, so they can't "fix" the issue. This puts myself and my small children at risk because if it jumps into the park effect, while still in drive, I can not move and someone could rear-end me. I do have video evidence.

    - Davenport , IA

Problems with my transmission for over two years, I’ve searched the website and have taken it to a dealership since. The vehicle has had a hard shift and problems to accelerate. The issue continues to get worse and my car has stopped while in drive, only allowing me to go backwards. It was within warranty and low miles. I was told that that’s what new cars do. Transmission fluid has always been full and topped off. In order to know what is wrong I am told I would have to pull my transmission and was suggested to replace it because it would be an easier fix. The steering also pulls. I’ve contacted the dealership and was told to contact Chevy for recall and since it was not in their data they could do nothing for me.

  • 2024 CHEVROLET CORVETTE
    - Kissimmee, FL

From the day the vehicle was delivered, all four tires were losing air daily. No disclosure of punctures or defects was made by the dealership. After one week, a tire went flat and I purchased new replacement tires. Multiple shops, including Costco, refused to install the tires because they did not have equipment capable of working with carbon fiber wheels. A specialized exotic-car shop (Enzo Auto Center) attempted the installation. During the process, one of the carbon fiber wheels spontaneously ruptured/exploded, causing multiple fractures to the technician’s hand and arm. He required emergency medical treatment. After the incident, even an authorized Chevrolet dealership was unable to mount the tires, indicating a possible manufacturing or structural defect in the wheel assembly. The vehicle has now been inoperable for more than 2 months, and the dealership has not provided a resolution. This is a severe safety hazard, involving: catastrophic wheel failure, structural integrity concerns, risk of further injuries, and total loss of vehicle usability. An immediate investigation is requested.

    - Kingsport, TN

My truck was brought in for the recall inspection for the 6.2 lt recall. After showing the dealer pictures from the oil that drained out of my previous oil change that was filled with metal, they expedited the inspection. But with substantial amount of metal in the oil filter the truck still passed the test. GM corporate has told me that once the inspection is done, it is out of their hands and that my truck will be covered under the new extended warranty. GM also should have the pictures of the metal flakes from the previous filter. I fill like this is a failure to ensure the safety of their product. I do not fill safe having my children or my wife in the truck due to the inevitable of the engine loosing power due to the faulty cam shafts that need to be replaced.

  • 2021 CHEVROLET CAMARO
    - Metairie, LA

My 2021 Chevrolet Camaro has experienced repeated transmission-related issues and has now suffered a complete transmission failure at approximately 74,000 miles. GM previously performed the Transmission Control Valve (TCV) recall on my vehicle, but the recall was only a software update to monitor for excessive valve wear. It was not a repair. The recall notice states that excessive TCV wear can affect hydraulic pressure, torque converter lockup, and downshifting behavior, and GM created software to continuously monitor for this excessive wear to prevent a potential wheel-lock condition. Despite this, my transmission has continued to have problems. In March 2025 I brought the vehicle in for a check engine light, and again in April 2025 for additional transmission-related issues. The service history does not clearly state what repairs were performed, only that transmission service was done. We have brought the vehicle in multiple times for check engine lights and for all recall updates. In Nov 2025, the transmission began to fail completely. The dealership has now advised that the entire transmission needs to be replaced. A transmission does not require full replacement unless significant internal wear or component failure has occurred. Excessive internal wear is the exact condition the recall software is designed to monitor for. GM has stated there are “no known failures after the recall,” but my case clearly contradicts that. The recall was primarily aimed at preventing a lock-up safety event, not mechanical deterioration. Excessive TCV wear can still cause progressive internal transmission damage over time, even after the recall software is installed. This failure affects the safe operation of the vehicle, including loss of power, unpredictable shifting, and potential inability to accelerate. GM is refusing to fully cover the repair and is only offering partial goodwill coverage despite the failure of the excessive wear condition identified in the recall.

  • 2017 CHEVROLET BOLT EV
    - Pleasant Hill, IA

My wife of [XXX] and grandson were driving our Chevrolet Bolt, crossing a busy 4 lane highway when suddenly and w/o any prior warning, the Bolt lost propulsion. Caught blocking 2 of those lanes, she was fortunate that men stopped their trucks and pushed her car up hill and into a church parking lot. She called me and I tried resetting everything to factory settings, and the Bolt seemed okay-for a short time. I hooked a diagnostic unit to the car and found an error code that indicated either the failure of the pre-charge resistor or the HV contactor-both in the battery pack. This was a pack replaced by the dealership back when Bolts were randomly catching fire and destroying themselves and nearby property. Now these packs are failing again and there are service bulletins addressing this fact and that it is common in 2017 and 2018 Bolts. GM however has not sent out warnings to its unfortunate customers warning them of this common failure and life- threatening problem. Luckily today I'm dealing with the Bolts warranty rather than two funerals. All of that took place on 11/22/25. In the hour following the first failure, this situation repeated itself 4 more times. The last time there was no restarting it, or the car would shake if put into drive or reverse. As it was Saturday we had to wait until today 11/24/25 to get it towed to the dealership for $140. This failure will require dropping the battery pack and running three tests, then replacement of the faulty components. This should be under warranty according to our and the dealerships records, but this issue need to hit the national news and all Bolt owners should be sent letters warning of sudden and unpredictable failures. This was life threatening for us and will be for many others. Imagine this happening at interstate speeds in heavy traffic. Lives will be lost. This is the second and more dangerous failure for these horrible vehicles, and GM should at this point replace these or refund every owner. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATI
