The contact stated that the braking distance was extended. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic) for which the VIN was included. The contact was informed that the failure was not caused by the recall. The contact was informed that the failure was related to Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 (Brake Booster) however, the vehicle was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the failure was not related to the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000.

The contact notified the tow company and the tow truck driver was able to place the shifter cable back onto the shifter tab. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact shifted the vehicle to reverse and both ends of the shifter failed.
