2013 FORD EDGE Complaints

The vehicle has spongy brakes, it takes more time to stop. This problem is in crescendo and it has been affecting it for a while. You have to pump them to ascertain it will stop. I have seen other owners complaint about the same problem. My 2013 Ford Edge Eco Boost only has 55,993 miles several times we have verified that it does not consume brake liquid, pads are ok.

I was driving the vehicle and the vehicle stopped driving. All the lights came on saying no fuel low oil pressure and traction to be fixed etc. I was in the middle of a busy road. Almost caused a serious accident.

The brake pedal is soft, and have to press to the floor to stop. It's full of fluid and has no leaks. This problem came up a couple of months ago and the fluid was a little low so I topped it off. It did it again today, but the fluid is full.

Since July 1, 2022 my car has completely shut down, as of today, four different days (almost on a weekly basis). I am noticing, that when I am at a stop light/sign and then accelerate the car will shut down all electrical. I cruise to a stop, put the car in park, and start the engine, again. The wrench light will flash right before the car shuts down. The car has been doing this since at least October 2021. I have taken it to three different mechanics (including the Ford dealer mechanic in May, 2022) and no one can find anything wrong with the car. I took the car last week to replace the coolant pump at the Santa Monica Ford and they couldn't find anything else wrong with the car (again). So far, I've been lucky. This has only occurred on city streets and I have been able to pull the car over to the right to start the engine. I have only been driving on the streets because I'm afraid it's going to shut down in the middle of the freeway and cause an accident. I search the internet and find that many people are having the same issue with this car model. Someone suggested it could be the throttle body, so I had that cleaned in October, 2021, but the trouble came back. Help!!!!

The contact was able to pull over and shut off the vehicle, once the vehicle cooled down the contact was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle started operating normally. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated that the vehicle VIN was not under recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V393000(Power Train). The failure mileage was 199,000.

Brake pedal goes to floor and gives feeling it won't stop. Have taken car to Ford dealership 3 times and they replaced master cylinder, brake booster. It would only last a couple weeks then brake to floor again. Took it to another mechanic who had it for 2 weeks. He said he tried everything and can't fix it. The parking brake light won't go off along with the traction light and abs light. This Ford model is a money pit. Plastic pieces for wiper wash in hood disintegrated, door ajar is a constant frustration, and blue Ford emblem faded to ugly. The brake problem has been going on for 4 months now.
