2013 FORD EDGE Complaints

I had to make an emergency stop and my brake pedal went down to the floor. I am being told that the ABS Module and Hydraulic Control Unit need to be replaced at a cost of $2,550.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle would not stop. The contact depressed the brake pedal almost to the floor for the vehicle to slow down. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure as a failure with a brake booster and hose that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The door closer says door ajar when it is closed. It is on the front driver's side door. The dome light is constantly on running out the battery and my wife is not able to lock the doors!!! This is a major safety issue!! I found some info online about A LOT of other ford owners having the same issues and ford doesn't think it's a big deal!!?? Is it going to take someone getting seriously injured for this to be resolved? This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!

The ABS Hydraulic Control Unit went bad in my car. i made an appointment with ford thinking that it was the brake booster because it’s listed as a problem with those cars but it ended up not being that. i was driving and was cut off and brake checked and when i went to slam on my brakes they went straight to the floor and luckily i was able to swearve and miss intime. ford told me what the problem was and they will be fixing it for over $1200. i read multiple entries of people with the same car having this problem and even with serious injuries as well and this is a very dangerous saftey issue. i checked all my system lights and the section for the brakes still said OK just like all the other categories. the fact that the car can’t even recognize the problem makes it so 100x worse. this was the scariest experience i’ve ever had and was able to come to a stop off an exit with my e-brake. this needs to be addressed, how many more people need to wreak and get hurt before it gets taken seriously. this needs to be recalled.

Brake pedal would go partially down when applied and then stop, allowing vehicle to continue moving, rather than stop.

2013 FORD EDGE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE DOOR SWITCH ON VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY BLINKS. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS 8 YEARS OLD AND COULD NOT BE COVERED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PAST RECALL SHOULD BE HONORED.

Brake booster went bad & the vehicle is not covered by the Ford extended warranty 13N02. Being that the booster is vacuum controlled the engine will occasionally die while in traffic.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, the fuel was coming back out from the fuel filler neck. The dealer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

After purchasing my 2013 Ford Edge SEL from a used car dealer, I noticed that the car would brake it self and come to a complete stop at 55 miles an hour. This scared me so I went to the Ford dealer Riser Ford in Hot Springs Arkansas about the problem. The dealer told me that no codes came up for the brake problem and nothing could be done until a code came up. I took the care to my mechanic and he told me that after driving the car himself he checked the temp on all four rotors and the front drivers side rotor was 30 degrees warmer than the rest. So either the sensor or module must be bad. This vehicle is dangerous to drive when your brakes lock up at high speed or at any speed. Ford should be sued for not correcting dangerous equipment.

I was driving home from work on a flat road no bumps or anything and my car was shaking like it was going over a speed bump and this loud sound happened like something fell off the car, and then immediately after that my brakes werent working anymore, we took it to a mechanic and they said its the brake booster and that my car is known to have this recall but that Ford doesnt have it announced as a recall and I would like to take it to Ford to fix it since its a known issue
