The vehicle was taken to the residence, where the contact inspected the vehicle and observed that there was no brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir, and the contact added brake fluid. Upon attempting to drive the vehicle, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but the brake pedal remained pressed to the floorboard. The contact parked the vehicle and noticed condensation on the driver’s side rear wheel and on the driveway. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the rear passenger's side tire became flat, and the front passenger's side tire lost a significant amount of air pressure. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where all four tires were replaced with brand new tires; however, the failure recurred a week later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the deflated tires were resealed; however, the failure recurred a month later. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rims were corroded. The dealer cleaned the corroded rims and resealed the tires; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the rims and the seal on the rims were defective, causing the tires to deflate. The dealer informed the contact that several other Ford vehicles of the same model were experiencing the rim failure. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and denied assistance due to the age of the vehicle; however, the dealer advised the contact that the failure was a factory defect and was not related to the age of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.
