2020 FORD ESCAPE Complaints

Door made popping sound and door is no longer latching. Hinge broke. Dealership states faulty spot weld.

Driver door check broke. Ford is fixing my car right now, however not without $1000s of dollars. My safety was put at risk because I could have severely injured someone with the door flinging open and I could have had even more damage. I have read online that Ford is investigating this issue, however no recall was made. No warning lights appeared.

SSM 51553. My vehicle has a known problem with the left front door that has been reported by many other car owners. It presents with a cracked or broken spot weld in the left front door at the check arm attachment point in the vehicle assembly. The wider is also impacted as it will only open approximately 5 inches. A door assembly replacement at the cost of $2100 has been recommended. I contacted Ford and was initially told that they would assist with replacement costs. After two weeks, we were told that we could save paperwork in case a recall was made on this part but there was nothing else they could do to help.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that after refueling, the contact stated that the fuel economy was abnormal. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer related the failure to manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 22N18 - High pressure Fuel Injectors (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact was advised by the dealer that the vehicle was not covered under the Manufacturer Satisfaction Program. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

Drivers door making noises. I was given the option WHOLE new door- total cost $2900 - I have to pay $1635 for NEW door which by the way will not match my car color as car 3 - 4 years old! SSM 50150 from national highway traffic safety administration. They also offer another solution to solve the problem. Ford should offer a better solution as shabby workmanship

Front Left Driver Door Has a Horrible Grinding and Popping Sound When Door Is Open Or Closed. The hinge is visibly damaged at welding joint. This issues a causes serious problems when trying to close the door and open.

Spot welds holding the door check arm in place have failed causing loud crunching noises when door is opened or closed

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V380000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

P2418 Electrical fault has occurred with the evap emission vapor blocking valve circuit and its associated wiring.

Cracks or broken spot welds in the passenger front door at the check arm attachment point in the door. Door check broke off from door causing the door to be hard to close or not able to close at all.
