2020 FORD ESCAPE Complaints

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated while opening the front driver's door, she heard an abnormally loud popping sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured front driver's door weld. The contact was informed that the front driver's door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

Car died while driving down road due to a defect in the emissions system. Took to garage to tell me it's the evap system. Common issue with the 1.5 ltr engines and not under warranty. Revise to cover it even though it's connected to emissions system under a 80,000 mile warranty. Well over 100+ complaints online

The driver door makes a popping noise when opening and closing. Door now has problems closing and sometimes will not shut properly. Also, the window is not going up and down as fast as it should. Both problems happened around the same time and are believed to be related.

Welds that secure the door check arm to the driver side door failed. This makes the door very difficult to both open and close, potentially creating a safety issue. This is a known issue affecting these vehicles, and a recall should be issued to correct the problem.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side door hinges were fractured, and the front driver's side door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,502.

The window tent is bubbling and warping down my windows impairing my view of the road, unsure of cause and it is available for inspection. Bubbles are visible the warping is harder to see in a photo, but it runs all the way down the window. It is impairing visibility through passenger and driver windows, causing depth perception issues and a risk to myself and other drivers. The Ford Dealership I recently went to to have other recalls fixed confirmed the issue and told me to file a complaint here. No warning lamps or other symptoms of the problem.
