2020 FORD ESCAPE Complaints

The local dealer was contacted and stated that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Because this trim lacks mechanical gauges, screen failure blinds the driver to vital real-time operating metrics: ?Speedometer: Prevents real-time speed monitoring, increasing collision risk. ?Engine Temperature: Hides thermal warnings, risking sudden engine breakdown or overheating. ?Fuel Gauge: Obscures fuel levels, risking sudden loss of propulsion in active traffic. ?Warning Lights: Hides critical alerts for Brake System, Airbags, Tire Pressure, and High-Voltage Hybrid System faults. ?OPERATIONAL HAZARD ANALYSIS Driving with a malfunctioning instrument panel creates immediate hazards: ?Driver Distraction: Constant screen flickering directly in the driver's line of sight creates a dangerous visual distraction, especially at night. ?Power Loss Risk: Lack of fuel/hybrid monitoring increases the likelihood of stalling on highways or busy intersections. ?Loss of Safety Warnings: The vehicle cannot communicate critical restraint or braking system failures to the driver. ?REQUESTED ACTION / RESOLUTION This condition represents an active safety defect. The tire pressure warning indicator started to come on indicating the front driver side tire is the one causing the alarm. This is dangerously we check the tire pressure on each tire on each individual tire every third day. Our 2020 Ford Escape is parked in the garage. I cannot drive myself currently. I am rehabbing from a severly torn rotor and biscep. My spouse brought this to my attention. She was very afraid and wanted to park the car and have it towed.

The cross traffic did not alert me. The opposing vehicle was parked in a parking spot at the Jacksonville Dermatologist office near the Martinez dental office 32216. She caused over $8900 dollars in damage. She indicated she did not see me in her rear view camera. Her vehicle from 2017 Kia did not have the cross traffic alert system. She did not believe me there was such an alert system. I showed the police officer my vehicle 2020 Ford escape did have it. I did have an anxiety attack and had to slow my breathing. I have PTSD and take prescribed anxiety medication.

While driving intermittent wipers started. After only 4-5 inches in motion, they began stuttering until reaching about ¾ of the full elevation. At that point they stalled. I turned them on, which made no change. When turning off, they returned to the lowered or of position. If it had been raining, my visibility would have been severely impacted. This action continues after 3 days. I learned there is an issued recall for this issue in the same year/make/model, but my VIN / vehicle is not yet covered.

I have taken my vehicle to 2 different ford Dealership one tell me that this wasn't for my car and immediately it shows up that I need a fuel injection second one Jim Norton charges me for the lights on my car to get a diagnostics when the recalls and I should never been charged and then the light comes on the next day for the wrench and the engine I've taken my car three times for the recalls and never had to get fixed my engine sounds like crap now it barely runs and it's because of the recall that are not getting fixed

Transmission needs to be replaced at 70k miles. In reading other user's stories online and hearing from mechanic, I was told to make a report here in reference to Ford's internal memo (SSM 54939). It would be nice for NHTSA to urge Ford to replace/fix transmissions on the 1.5L Dragon engines on the Escape 2020, etc. Too many widespread safety concerns/issues with a defective engine that they know about yet failed to act.

I noticed the Powertrain slipping after 583 miles. Took to ford which ford recalibrated the software. Powertrain continued to slip during shift change. Noticed ford dealership in norco. Another recalibration. This continued until my transmission flush at 60,000. Took my ford escape at 95,000 for the same thing, then I was told I needed and new transmission, which would cost $4600. All of this back and forth, at a dealership i didn't buy the car from. Why wasn't it recommended to me at my 60,000 mile why my car was under warranty. Fast forward to now. Stopped driving my car at 109,000 miles. Had it parked for over 3 months. Went back to ford in norco was told transmission would cost me $8600!!! Found a auto shop that bought the transmission from norco ford and was charged $5600. What a headache.

Complete transmission failure under normal driving at about 50,000 miles. Cost about $7500 to completely rebuild the transmission since Ford has none available within the next 6 months, probably because so many of them are failing early.
