2020 FORD ESCAPE Complaints

The door hinge on the driver side of my 2020 Ford escape snapped causing damage to my window. The spot welds broke. Even though Ford is aware that this is an ongoing problem with this make and model and I pay for an extended warranty. They refused to cover this and are telling me I have to pay for it out of pocket. This door hinge broke about a month ago and I called Ford and they told me that they would not cover it at all. I even called corporate office for Ford and they told me they would not cover it upon bringing my vehicle to formula Ford in Rutland Vermont to have inspected. They refuse to inspect my car, took it to a body shop to have an estimate provided to me and said that they might be able to have Ford cover it upon getting the estimate and contacting ford They refused to pay for it repair and will not inspect my car . I feel that this is unfair since it’s nothing I did to break this door. It’s just really crappy craftsmanship.

Approximately 1/4/2024 The front drivers side door is broken. The bolts broke off on the inside.I had no prior warning, I went to open my door and a huge clunk sound happened and it was difficult to open , there was friction ,opening it all the way is causing friction and I don’t want the door to fall off. Also it’s causing the automatic window not to work now , that only is opening half way . I took it to the dealer to assess the problem and it’s the left door asy , I looked this up online and it’s stating Ford is aware of this problem but still hasn’t issued a recall. I do not want my door to fall off , especially if I’m driving and this happened . This is also a huge financial burden on anyone , please can you help with this situation . Thank you

Drivers side Front door pops when you open or close it drivers side window won’t let down all the way lift gate doesn’t work most of the time but the most scary issue is riding down the road radio screen will read turn engine on or shut off to save battery this car is only 3 years old I shouldn’t have these kind of issues

Back up camera image freezes on Infotainment screen while driving the vehicle, then the screen goes black. This is a hazard on long trips when relying on navigation maps which should be shown on the screen, but then we're forced to use our phone's tiny screen.

My car is what is being investigated under PE23013. The welds on my driver door have come undone.

Opened the driver's door and heard a crunching sound and the door could not be opened all the way. Along with that the rear back window would not close and the driver's window went up slowly. Went to the dealership and they say it is a known problem, but they don't have any recalls about them so out of pocket it would cost me upwards of 2000 for the window regulators and 5,000 to replace the door which is a known problem.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V380000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact stated that the failure persisted and ultimately resulted in the driver's side door not latching closed properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the door check arm attachment point. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE23013 (Structure). The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 79,000.

I own a 2020 Ford Escape. While entering the vehicle through the driver's side door, the door made an abnormal popping sound while being opened. The passenger’s side front door also made the abnormal popping sound while being opened. I have been informed by my repair shop that the doors will need to be replaced. I took to my local dealership, Kindle Ford and they informed me that the vehicle is out of warranty as the mileage is at 40,000 miles.
