2017 FORD EXPEDITION Complaints

UNKNOWN There is no part to fix the recall on my truck, it is still "incomplete". Has been on recall since August 2022

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the low brake fluid message flashed on the instrument panel. As the contact attempted to depress the brake pedal, the pedal depressed to the floorboard. Due to the failure, the contact applied the parking brake and pulled off to the shoulder. As traffic cleared, the contact pulled into the parking lot of his employment where the vehicle parked. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no open recalls or warranty on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics) which he linked to the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

March 2019- December 2021 Car serviced by Ford Dealers and repeatedly told to ignore CSP recall notice re: California Emissions Warranty Paid out of pocket for services August 2023 Ford issues recall of climate control blower Motor Nov 2022 -Customer has multiple issues addressed at South Bay Ford in CA Customer was not notified of open recall December 2022 Customer notices hot air spontaneously intermittently blowing at full force and can not stop it Customer notices dash lights flickering intermittently Service light illuminates and remains on for a few hours and turns off February 2023 Hot air begins spontaneously blowing more frequently March 2023 Hot air blows constantly. Customer notices burnt plastic smell and loud clicking noises. Customer is unable to drive with out all windows opened in order to breathe Audio stops working. Navigation stops working. Clocks reset and cannot be changed. Customer learns of recall for climate control blower motor and contacts Ford Customer Service. FCS contacts South Bay Ford and informs customer to bring car in for service and that rental services will be provided. Vehicle arrives at dealership. Customer is unable to speak with service agent for several days. Service agent informs customer that the recall has been addressed but audio and other issues including hot air blowing have not and will not be repaired due to parts being obsolete despite multiple warranties covering the repair. Service agent suggests customer goes to a junk yard for the part. Customer picks up the car and finds exposed wiring and tools left inside as well as places where interior sections had been removed and improperly replaced. Service manager closes the exposed area removes the tools and says he will try and obtain the obsolete part. Customer contacts Ford Corporate and after a month of following up is left with the issues persisting and no remedy. Car feels unsafe and unstable. Customer has no trust in the vehicle

The factory Ford lug nuts have "swollen" so that the 2 piece "cap" has detached from the actual nut preventing me from removal or properly tightening the lug nut to the wheel. In the even of a flat tire, this would be impossible to change along the highway.

The faulty blow motor is has caused the pigtail and resistor wires to melt and the dealership wants to charge for repairing that even though they have melted due to the faulty blower motor .

while driving on the 58 freeway in the fast lane amongst semi trucks my expedition lost power and had no acceleration, i was forced to the left shoulder of the freeway putting my family and i in danger. while stopped i had no response from my gas peddle but the engine was still on and a wrench appeared on my dash lights. i turned off the car and when i restarted it the car worked again and the wrench was gone. very very very dangerous

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and then stalled. The transmission, check engine, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle to correct the failure. The contact's husband diagnosed the vehicle and retrieved DTC: P0720 (Output Speed Sensor). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while activating the air condition, there was no air blowing through vents. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the dealer performed the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System) but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the dealer stated that the wires to the blower motor was burned, causing the blower to become inoperable. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a discount for the repair. The failure mileage was 75,000.

We have now twice on our vehicle had a throttle body issue where the car suddenly loses all power and the wrench warning light comes on. It is very scary when it happens and is a safety issue. If we stop the car and turn it off, it usually will let us restart and continue driving for a little bit, but the first time kept reoccurring. The first time was in 2021 and was repaired at a dealer while out of town, second time just happened today 4/15/2023.

THE DASH CLUSTER WILL RANDOMLY MAKE A HUMMING NOISE FOR A LITTLE WHILE THEN STOPS. THE PHONE OPTION ON THE RADIO IS GONE ALSO THE BLUETOOTH MENU TO ACCESS ANY BLUETOOTH OR RESET THE SYSTEM IS ALSO GONE. THE USB PORT STOPPED WORKING.
