Backup camera is provides a distorted image more than 80% of the time. This is a known issue for 2018 Ford expeditions but it has not been reported as a problem for 2019’s. I am telling you that it is a problem that I am experiencing it. It is the same as the prior year issue. It affects all Ford SUVs in that era. Fixing it is a temporary solution - it is a known issue that they are frequently defective.

While driving at approximately 70 mph on an interstate highway, the vehicle intermittently loses propulsion during acceleration. Engine power drops suddenly and the vehicle coasts for several seconds before power returns. This has occurred multiple times and creates an immediate safety hazard due to sudden loss of speed in active traffic lanes. The engine also produces a loud rattle at cold start. These symptoms began at approximately 70,000 miles and progressively worsened. A Ford dealership later diagnosed cam phaser failure at 88,938 miles. The loss of propulsion occurs without warning lights or driver alerts. Sudden reduction in engine power at highway speeds increases the risk of rear-end collision or loss of vehicle control. This condition presents a significant safety concern.
