2022 FORD EXPEDITION- DERIDDER, LA
vehicle has been shifting into neutral at speeds for 65 mph or more , it is constantly locking and unlocking itself when turned off. It malfuctiins during auto pilot asst( doesnt read the hands even though they are on the wheel) Today it wouldn't turned on. when I pressed the brake to turn it on, it said that the steering system fails and that the braking system failed and the screen powered down to save battery. when pressed the brake shook and then locked down. even if left on this vehicle turns off after idling for more than 10 minutes. so that makes no sense. It wouldn't even attempt to turn over.

Bought car new last year. Current 15,000 miles. On Saturday, September 2, I turned the ignition off and then opened the drivers door. Suddenly there was a horrendous loud static noise coming from I assume the radio speakers. It was deafening, and lasted about 3 seconds. I have read about other Ford trucks having this problem, but it is the first time for me. I will take it to my Ford dealer tomorrow morning. Apparently there is a quick program update to correct the issue. If this happened while I was driving, it may have caused an accident.

On start-up, vehicle had an ear-piercing noise coming through all speakers. All of the dashboard screens were black, buttons were not responsive, but the vehicle would still move. Even after getting the vehicle to turn off, the sound persisted. I had to manually disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I have video of the incident if helpful. Ford service had no idea how to handle.

While driving with cruise control set at 65mph the vehicle will maintain set speed for a undetermined amount of time at which point the vehicle cruise will jump to a very high setting of 88mph....forcing me to shut the system down...this happens frequently and I can't determine what sets it off. Ford Dealer can't find anything wrong . Also the lane assist will constantly warn of not holding the wheel or lane in fractions forcing me to shake the steering wheel to let the system know I'm holding the wheel.

My Expedition has adaptive cruise control. I was driving on the interstate at around 65 mph with the adaptive cruise set. I was raining, so I set it to max range. It worked fine for the first few minutes of rain. As cars started to slow down, mine sped up and put me in an extremis situation where I had to forcibly apply the brakes. It was following the car in front of mine fine at around 55 mph, but then sped up despite the car getting closer as if there wasn't a car there. Only after I applied the brakes did I start getting an error that adaptive cruise and collision assist were not working due to a sensor being blocked. I've driven in rain many times and have never had this error. As far as I can tell the forward sensor failed due to moisture and instead of the adaptive cruise turning off, it actually caused the vehicle to accelerate since cruise was set to 65 mph. Sensor failed in a 5 minute rain storm. Software design does not fail safe, but rather the opposite.
