had a recall on my truck to replace master brake master cylinder on October 2014, my truck lost braking power on [XXX] before I was able to leave my community almost resulted in me driving to a pond with toddler in the backseat. I was eventually able to bring truck to a full stop using extreme force to push brake to the floor. Upon discussion with Ford service representative, it is highly likely due to premature brake booster failure as a result of recalled brake cylinder. Upon further research on Kelly's Blue Book, it states that the brake booster should be replaced "as necessary" as a part of the master cylinder recall but was not in my case. this failure could have resulted in catastrophic failure ending 2 lives and Ford refuses to warrant the repair. On 7/8/2024 my 2014 F150 was part of Recall 24S37 6R80 to reprogram the Powertrain Control Module to correct the sudden downshifting at highway speed from either 5th or 6th gear to 2nd. The reprogram may have worked for a few weeks. The sudden downshift issue has returned and us getting worse. What recourse do I have with Ford? My truck is not safe to drive. Is Ford now required to replace the Control Module and Module housing in the transmission or am I now responsible for the several thousand dollar repair? Any assistance from the NHTSA will be appreciated.

I received the NHTSA letter Campaign Number: 24V-4444 dated June 24, 2024. I took my 2014 Ford F-150 to my local dealer for service along with the NHTSA letter. The dealer told me the POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM) was OK and did not need to be changed or replaced. Obviously I'm still concerned that a downshift to first gear could cause a major issue. How would you advise me to proceed? VIN [XXX] . Rear glass shattered spontaneously. There are many reports of this issue over a wide range of model years and no acknowledgement from Ford. Vehicle was parked with engine running and rear defrost on, no prior damage to the rear window. The drivers side rear glass shattered suddenly with a loud bang and rained small glass slivers down on rear occupants. Was quoted $1080 by a glass installer for replacement. They said this is a common issue with these trucks.

My 2014 F150 was recalled for a software patch pertaining to the lead frame in the transmission because the vehicle would abruptly downshift at any speed. After having the recall performed by a dealership, it continued to have the same issue. I was told by the Service Manager the lead frame was bad but the recall did not cover the repair. For my safety I had the repair done and it cost me $1869.64. I contacted NHTSA and was told the dealership would have to contact Ford Motor Company for a warranty code to cover the cost of the repair. Ford Motor Company said the dealership should pay for the repair up front then get reimbursed by Ford Motor Company. The dealership said only NGTSA can include the lead frame in the recall so I was responsible for the cost of the repair. As of this date (1/7/2025), I'm still out $1859.64. I have the lead frame that was removed from the truck and there are no obvious defects (cracks, buildups, etc) so the issue has to be with the control mechanism within the lead frame that the software patch should have corrected. Why has the recall not been upgraded to include replacing the lead frame?

I was instructed to take my truck in for a recall of a sudden downshift issue with the transmissions molded leaf frame. I had told the ford representative that i was experiencing similar symptoms with my vehicle. and some symptoms that were even of even greater risks to me where when coming to a complete stop my vehicle would fail to gain proper speed facing oncoming traffic!! Also i had told the representative that due to those issues i also had the computer re-programmed previously to try to resolve the issue before becoming aware of the recall... i also had purchased an engine and transmission harness from a ford dealer prior to the recall as well, All for which i have not been re-compensated for..after becoming aware of the recall did i understand that the issue lied in the transmissions molded leaf frame which has not been repaired...no actions were taken to remedy my vehicle and i was upset and unsatisfied with the entire process!
