2014 FORD F-150 Complaints

Throttle body failure causes truck to go into 'limp-home' mode, meaning a significant reduction in acceleration occurs without warning. This is extremely dangerous when driving at highway speeds, turning with oncoming traffic, ect. Many times we must pull over and the truck has to be turned off for several minutes, before we can start it again and continue on our journey. $800+ repair cost is what we were quoted today by the local Ford dealership. Ridiculous! This is a known issue with other 2014 Ford models, but not covered under CSP 13N03. Why is that? Many complaints and two class action lawsuits in California that are pending and it seems like NOBODY cares.

While driving 50mph the transmission downshifted to 2 gear and the rear end locked up and I slid. I was able to shift to neutral and gain control. This has happened twice at that speed and you can feel a jolt like it’s happening at lower speeds. I believe this is an electrical issue in the transmission as the gear indicator on the dash will flicker between “D” and “2”. I have a video of this that can be shared. I have not called Ford yet but there does appear to be a recall on the 2013 F150 models where there is an issue with the lead frame which sounds very similar to what I’m experiencing. My 2014 has the same transmission 6R80 that’s used in that truck as well. There was no warning when this happens.

My truck is randomly down shifting on its own at highway speeds sometimes even shifting to reverse and causing the speedometer to not work the truck has around 78000 miles on it and I see there were a lot of trucks recalled for this dangerous problem. When I contacted ford they say mine was not recalled even though it is doing the same thing the other vehicles with the 6r80 transmission is doing.

(1090 S Hamilton Rd, Columbus, OH 43227), where it was diagnosed that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.

The contact stated that the wrench warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the lead frame and valve body assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the fuel pump relay. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. My vehicle shows a wrench on the dashboard and loses power and will not accelerate. We took it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test performed and it shows that the OSS ( Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit) fault. In my 2014, this is inside the transmission. After doing research, I found this was recalled in 2009 to 2013 models. Could this be an issue in my 2014?

The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the message "Service Power Steering" was displayed, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the electric power steering (EPS) assist unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 307,000.

My truck stalled and died while entering an intersection. I was nearly broadsided by another vehicle. We both could have been KILLED. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Ford is well aware issue and has issued a TSB about it to their dealers. It is called a FUSE 27 in the Ford f150’s and it causes IMMEDIATE LOSS of power and potentially control. The power steering and brakes are effected. Someone is or more likely has been killed because of this. Please do your job. Events like this that are KNOWN by the manufacture should be IMMEDIATELY addressed.

The contact pumped the brake pedal, and the vehicle was able to stop. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to the residence. The contact examined the vehicle and notice that brake fluid had leaked out from the brake master cylinder. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000.
