2019 FORD F-150- Belding, MI
Vehicle will downshift from 10th gear to 1st gear at highway speeds. Vehicle lunges forward after stoplight restarts. 3rd to 4th and 9th to 10th gear shifts are extremely delayed and transmission slips during shifts. Transmission makes very loud noises and clunks when driven. Transmission lags and delays when going into reverse.

During acceleration the transmission will fail to engage during different gear changes. The motor will high rev as it is a failed transmission shift which, it is just that.

I bought pre owned 2019 f150 5.0 with the 10 speed transmission. The truck didn’t even make it home from the dealer. Transmission was leaking fluid and lights came on. Shift would go from 10th to 1st gear.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 - 70 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly shifted into reverse. There was white smoke coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle near the engine compartment. The contact depressed the brake pedal to assist with the vehicle slowing down to be able to pull over to the side of the road where the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle lost power and failed to restart. The contact poured water onto the engine to assist with dissipating the smoke and cooling the engine. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle; however, the contact was unsure of the diagnostic results. The contact was informed that additional diagnostic tests were needed. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000.

Transmission overheated and started sporadically shifting out of nowhere. Going 70mph on the highway in 10th gear and suddenly downshifted to 3rd gear then back to 8th then to 5th then 1st and back to 8th. Truck jerked all around and took all i had to keep it on the road and pull over in a safe manner. Had an independent mechanic come look at it where i pulled over at. He couldn't find any issues. Took it to a local ford dealer afterwards and had them look it over as well and again, they couldn't find any issues.

My transmission experienced the same issue that has affected millions of trucks. The transmission started downshifting from 10th to 1st gear while driving. I had it inspected at my local dealer and they informed me that it was a common issue with the clutch drum sleeve. It just cost me $6200.00 dollars to have it fixed. I only had 86,000 miles on the truck. I dont know how thete is not a recall on this, it's dangerous , if I was on the highway this could have caused me to cause and accident either die or get severely injured myself or even other drivers. Please look into this, this issue is beyond ridiculous and dangerous.
