while driving on the freeway my 2014 ford f150 suddenly downshifted from 6th gear to 1st gear causing my rear wheels to lock up and having the steering wheel jerk to the left. the car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me from behind since the trucks wheels locked up with no brake lights. this has been the 8th time this has happened. each time i take it to ford for them to check it out they tell me they can not duplicate the issue. the wrench light comes on and it throws codes and ford will do nothing to fix it.

Usually on a daily basis and with no correlation to current speed, constant speed, acceleration, decelleration, road surface (highway, city or country) or any other symptoms: suddenly the vehicle bucks violently (feels like it shifts to first gear) while the speedometer either stutters momentafily or drops to 0 MPH. The Tach and other instrument seem to work OK, except that the SEAT BELTWARNING light comes ON (no warning bell, just the instrument panel light) and the display loses all mileage-relayed information (e.g., trip A and B indicators show dashes instead of miles, etc), On occasion, a wrench icon appears on the window that normally shows current mileage. I have researched these symptoms and discovered identical descriptions reported for the F150 which resulted in a recall of something like 20,000 f150's up to year 2013. It looks like the recall problem extends to my 2014 F150 and I would like to know the basis for my vehicle being excluded when it clearly has the same symptoms. I am planning a trip to Vancouver, BC and Colorado, USA to have my vehicle repaired, but the Service Shop advises that the repair parts are not available nationwide because of the above-mentioned recall. As I tow a 5000+ lbs trailer, it is clear that the combined vehicle + trailer combo cannot safely operate with this defect in place.

on several occasions while driving at 50+ mph my truck suddenly downshifts from 6th gear to 1st gear causing the rear wheels to lock up and skid. i have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they refuse to do anything because they can not duplicate the issue. this has happened several times the last time was on the freeway causing me to shoot over 2 lanes of traffic almost causing an accident. the ford dealership and the extended warranty company ameriplus both refuse to help because they both say that they can not duplicate the problem but the vehicle comes up with dtc codes p0731 and p0722

Exhaust manifolds are warping causing a severe exhaust leak at around 45K miles. Vehicle sounds like a bird chirping or wild animal screaming when accelerating. This repair is quite costly and requires several parts and labor hours. No vehicle with this low miles should require such a costly repair so early. Ford needs to make it right with all owners of these vehicle's by recalling and fixing the issue with the engine exhaust manifolds warping. I was quoted $1,700 per manifold x2 to get the leaks fixed and my truck safely running down the road again without making embarrassing noises. Anyone who has had to make this repair should be fully reimbursed for the parts and labor by Ford. When they make the repair they replace the failed parts with the exact same parts the truck come with so until they are forced to come up with a solution all us unfortunate 3.5L ecoboost owners will be replacing these costly exhaust manifolds. Thank you for your time. Nathan
