Over the years the engine has felt like it was slipping or stalling. It appears to be increasing more. Sometimes it happens while cruise control is on. Today, the engine slipped for a prolonged time, more than usual, and then RPMs decreased. Warning sign of a “wrench” appeared on screen and said see manual. I was also unable to put vehicle in reverse. Slips more at lower speeds when accelerating.

Initially; I thought someone rear ended my truck, but it turned out to be a severe shifting problem when accelerating. I took the truck to a Ford Authorized Service Dealer and they told me about the well documented "10R80 mechanical hardware defect (CDF drum migration)" transmission problem for Ford model years 2017-2022. There were no warning messages or symptoms that I remember. The truck has 142,000 miles.

Transmission failure hard knock pushing car forward from 1st gear jumping to 3rd and then holding back when accelerating on the rest of gear making me unsafe cause someone can hit from the back instead of going forward holds back for a few then spinning inside transmission moves ahead.

The transmission was shifting extremely rough. When attempting to accelerate from a stop, the RPMs would increase without shifting for several seconds causing me to be stuck in the middle of intersections. It would also slip from a higher gear to a lower gear for no reason. This included while driving on the interstate causing a sudden loss of speed. A local transmission shop confirmed the issue and replaced the transmission. That same week he said he had three other Ford F150's (years 2019 to 2020) with the same issue. There were no warning messages when the issue first started happening.

excessive oil consumption. I have to check and refill every single week since i drive over 100 miles/day, it is ridiculous how much oil burns. Transmission at high speed acts very erratic, when downshifting is like it doesn't know what do do and when it finally decides to down shift, it kicks so hard that feels like it's going to brake in pieces, even at low speed the shifting is very hard, not smooth at all. radio carplay is useless, every time i try carplay, it works but i am not able to use the volume, so i have the feature but can't use it

On a day trip i experienced transmission issues where my truck attempted to shift from 10th gear to 1st gear on the interstate. After getting off an exit it attempted to shift from 6th to 1st gear going 50mph. Ford knows the CDF drum on the 10r80 transmissions are bad from the factory. They have even revised the part to accommodate for the issue. They refuse to recall this transmission or cover the cost. This could have caused a wreck while traveling on the interstate and endangered my life. I have the 6th to 1st gear shift on video.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced hard shifts and the transmission was shuddering. The Check Engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25E070000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the contact was informed that the recall repair could not be completed because the transmission had exceeded 8,000 miles. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

No accident or damage occurred. I was able to drive the vehicle back to the dealership that installed the fluid mixture without needing the automatic 4-wheel drive feature to prevent damage. The vehicle is at the dealership to address the potentially incorrect fluid that were used and to install the Ford recommended fluid. The safety concern is that the Ford dealership followed the guidance of a well known company (BG products) and installed a mixture of fluids that have never been tested in a complex transfer case that has the Torque-on-demand, automatic 4A feature that controls the vehicle's traction during wet/icy conditions. This type of transfer case is not installed in all F-150 trucks, only the upper models like the Lariat or Platinum models. The dealership installed BG 792 plus they mixed in BG 328 additive per a universal guideline published by BG products. This mixture doubles the viscosity of the fluid recommended by Ford, which is Mercon LV (Low Viscosity). The guidance was intended for less complex or manual type transfer cases not the Borg Warner 44-67. The installed mix of BG 792 +328 could cause a slower engagement and inconsistent operation of the Traction-On-Demand system during wet or icy conditions. The Borg Warner 44-67 uses speed sensing and injects low viscosity fluid through portsinto a "wet clutch" pack, and the hydraulic pressure is modulated by a specifically programmed PID loop. The hydraulic system has not been tested with the BG mixtures, that doubles the viscosity of the fluid. The BG 328 additive is specifically designed for friction type clutching plates, and could cause damage to the "wet clutch" pack found in the Borg Warner 44-67. I have notified the dealership and BG products of the misinterpretation of the BG guidance but they have claimed that the fluid mix they used "should be ok". They can not, and/or will not provide the chemistry calculation or testing protocols for the mix used, especially with BG 328 added into BG 792.
