2015 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

This is the second 2015 Ford F-250 we have driven with the death wobble. The first one was a test drive before we purchased the one we have. We were driving it on the interstate and hit a bump and it started shaking profusely and was very scary. I could see this causing a very bad accident. We figured this one had something severely wrong with it and wasn't in the best condition. It has 60K on it. The we have now has 150K on it and about 5K ago it did the same thing. We took it in for repairs and they replaced the components in the steering that seemed to be of issue. The issue is better but still has a bad shake in the front end when hitting a bump. This seems to be very common with these trucks up to model year 2019. Ford should issue a recall and fix the problem with these trucks.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

Death wobble. I hit a bump in the road and the truck shook so hard it pulled me off the road and into the grass.

While driving on the freeway the truck just started violently shaking uncontrollably. The only way to stop it was to reduce the speed and to try and exit the freeway safely. The 1st time this happened was in May 2021 and since than it has happened about a dozen times. I have been replacing parts left and right trying to fix the issue, but each time we replace what we think is causing the problem it happens again. While driving to PA for work this weekend (July 22nd-July25th, 2021) it happened 3 separate times, it's very unsafe and scary as hell, when it happens. So we googled "f250's shaking violently" and was amazed at what popped up. The "Ford Death Wobble", that describes what happened to us to a T. I can't believe Ford hasn't issued a recall for this, knowing all the facts. If possible when we replace parts on our car, it's with Ford Dealer ship replacement parts.

there is a severe fuel leak when the fuel pump is powered on from a fitting on the top of the fuel tank. This is the second time it has happened to me. first instance was supposedly repaired at the dealership who suggested it was a freak occurrence possibly caused by some road trash kicked up but there was no hard evidence either offered or given even though I asked. When the tow truck came to pick up my truck the driver mentioned that this is not an isolated incident that is becoming more common. The potential for a fire and/or explosion is very great in my opinion.

The contact stated their husband was driving at 70 mph, the vehicle was in cruise control and the driver attempted to get out of cruise control by depressing on the brakes, however, the cruise control did not disengage and the vehicle began to accelerate. The driver attempted to manually turn off the cruise control from the steering wheel but it failed and continued to accelerate. The contact attempted shifting out of the drive gear shift position and taking the key out of the ignition to turn off the vehicle but the vehicle still was accelerating in speed which caused the vehicle to crash and hit the rear end of the vehicle in front. Both of the driver's feet were on the brake pedal where excessive force was used but the vehicle continued to accelerate leading to a crash. The contact mentioned that the vehicle independently increased in speed up to 100 MPH or more during the failure. The vehicle was finally able to stop once it crashed into a guard rail. The front driver's side tire and door were detached from the vehicle. The air bags did deploy. No warning lights illuminated from the vehicle. The driver sustained injuries for a fractured left kneecap from the dashboard collapsing and bruises on their left leg and chest. The contact sustained injuries as well with a broken left big toe on their foot and bruises on their leg and upper chest. Medical treatment was at the scene and the ambulance did take the contact and the driver to a local hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard where it was deemed a total loss. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 172,000.

While driving on Interstate 10 just past SR129 in Florida my cruise control disengaged and my throttle pedal began working intermittently.Since there was no exit for about 12 miles I proceeded at the speed I could (less than 50 MPH) to the next exit. I was able to limp in to the ford dealer in Lake City. He looked at the truck, noted the brake lights stayed on and informed me that a little plastic tab had broken that pushed the brake light switch to the off position. He further informed me that Ford does not sell that little plastic bumper and that the whole brake pedal assembly would have to be replaced. Part cost ~$300 + $500 labor or about $800. I said no thanks and limped the vehicle home on the back roads since it was too dangerous to try to drive 40 - 50 mph on the interstate Apparently, this is a common problem with late model Fords That presents a Safety issue and a major expense for no justifiable reason. The safety issue being that the engine throttle disengages every 10 - 20 seconds while driving only due to the brake lights being on. This can cause rear end collision and other accidents for no good reason. The monetary issue is Ford charging $800 when a $3 dollar plastic bumper would solve the problem that should not have happened to start with. When I am driving about 60 ish miles per hour and I hit a bump or like a small pot hole my truck's steering starts to shake and the entire frontend shakes so badly that I cannot control the truck until I can get it stopped. It does not do it all the time it happens all of a sudden. I have put new tires on the truck, new front end parts, had it aligned and it just keeps happening. It has been going on since the truck had 110,000 miles just out of my warranty but the Ford dealer just kept telling me it was the tires. This morning it was the worst that it ever have been.
