2015 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-250 The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed diesel particulate filter. The contact was informed that the diesel particulate filter needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the contact that there was a Customer Satisfaction Program for the repair, but the vehicle was not eligible. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel injector pump failure caused metal shavings to enter the fuel filter, causing the vehicle to stall. The mechanic replaced the fuel system assembly. The contact stated that the transmission later failed, and the vehicle was sold. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.

The truck experienced excessive shaking when it hit a bump in the road while driving on the interstate. The steering wheel rattled so badly that the truck was difficult to control or steer. The shaking was so severe, that it felt like we had been hit by another car or had a blown tire. The violent shaking occurred when driving at speeds over 50 miles per hour.

Driving on Interstate in Illinois. Tire made noise, felt the instability while driving, pulled to shoulder. Very dangerous, fast speeding cars past us, not moving over a lane. Tire had rip in sidewall. LT285/75R18 129/126R

At any given moment, if I have the wheel turned a little bit and hit a pot hole or crack in pavement, the drivers wheel will do a horrible wobble until I slam the brakes on and hold tight to the wheel. It will not come out of this wobble until I am at an almost complete stop. This has happened more than 10 times in a few weeks. It has been happening for a few months but is happening more and more now. I have had the tires balanced, changed the shocks, changed stabilizer shock, and replaced the tie rods. None of this has helped. After talking with a mechanic, this is a known Problem with Ford F250’s. This is very dangerous to not only me and my passengers but other drivers on the road as well when my truck swerves into other lanes and I have to slam my brakes on. I am hoping something can be done before injuries happen. Yesterday was the worst and almost caused an accident.

Since June of 2023 I have had instances of excessive wobbling of the front end of my truck. Severe to the point that I've almost lost control. Took it into the Ford dealership in July of 2023. Determined to be consistant with "Death Wobble." Extensive work done and then again in September of 2023. Took it in again. Additional work done by Ford. On October 31,2023 a reoccurance of wobble and taken into Ford. Today, 11/13/2023 Ford could not find any issues and told me to drive it and when it does it again, bring it back in. This is an accident waiting to happen and I'm at a loss.

It started shaking while driving on the highway and I searched up on what was happening after slowing down to 50 Mph or lower and it stated that it was the death wobble where the driver can lose control of the vehicle

The truck started jerking back and forth(left and right) while driving down the hwy at 70 mph, continued to do so at lower speeds as well. Safety was at risk as it was dark and the truck was jerking back and forth with passengers inside. It has not been inspected yet, it's Saturday night 9/16/2023 at 10:00 pm. No warning lights or alert sounds were activated. This has happened before but did not last as long and not near as violent. The problem seems to resolve it's self then occurs spontaneously days, sometimes minutes later.
