2015 FORD FUSION Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse, the transmission shifter became inoperable, and the transmission could not be shifted into gear. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission shifter cable bushing had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 151,000.

The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power with the engine overheating warning light illuminated. The contact was informed that coolant intrusion into the engine had damaged the engine and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, there was white smoke intermittently coming from the exhaust pipe. No warning light was illuminated. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was coolant intrusion into the cylinder and that the engine needed to be replaced. The mechanic made the contact aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Power steering failed exactly as under recall 15S18 and 15N01 - however they say my car isn't included in the recall. The car is still at the dealer and broken, so the part is available at this moment. The steering warning came up while driving. Upon restarting, the car would only work in manual mode. The dealer has confirmed the problem. I have not contacted Ford yet, only talking to the dealer. There was no warning other than the one that came up when the failure occurred.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated with the temperature gauge indicated that the engine was hot(H). The contact later checked the coolant level and discovered that the coolant level was low; the coolant was topped off and the check engine warning light disappeared. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact's wife took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was determined that there was a misfire in cylinder #2. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN for the engine. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000.

Check engine light, Code P0303. #3 cylinder misfire. Coolant leaking into cylinders 2 & 3 due to faulty casting of the short block. This was a known defect of 2015 Ford Fusion 1.5 liter EcoBoost engine by Ford Motor Co. No recall was issued. I was not notified of this defect until it happened. Ford covered repairs for some vehicles but not mine stating I was not within the required timeframe. I had to pay $7200.00 to repair this problem. I only had 80,000 miles on the car. I feel a recall should have been issued on all these cars since Ford knew about the defect. Please look into this and require Ford to issue a recall. Thank you.

The contact stated that after parking in the driveway and shifting to park, the contact exited the vehicle with the engine idling and the front driver’s side door opened. The contact walked down the driveway to retrieve the mail and suddenly the vehicle erroneously rolled down the driveway. The opened door struck and knocked the contact to the ground. The contact reached inside the vehicle and depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle from rolling while his wife engaged the parking brake. During the failure the contact sustained a separated right shoulder. No medical treatment was received. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were contacted but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 121,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the RPM's immediately surged to 3,000 RPM. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who observed a crack in the engine block, allowing coolant to leak into the head gasket. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 22-2322. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 100,000.

My vehicle will not turn on after refueling, but there are no signs of visible damage. The check engine light remains illuminated, and the code read for the O2 sensors. The RPM jump up and down at the slightest push of the accelerator, and occasionally the engine will shut off when RPM drops to idle speed.
