The component that failed was the flex plate. It is available for inspection at this exact moment, but it’s scheduled to be fixed next week. The safety issue is that it’s intermittently providing adequate power to the engine and causing the vehicles steering to shake violently. I know my engine had coolant and there was no sign of a leak. There was no notification of the car overheating. After researching on the internet there is a known part that cause this problem. Ford is aware and they aren't fixing it. My car could have caught on fire with no fault of my own. I can't afford to pay $10,000 for a new engine. This is an extreme financial hardship for me.
