2025 FORD MAVERICK- Ventura, CA
While flat towing in Neutral Tow Mode yesterday, [XXX] (appx. [XXX]), we were headed west on [XXX] traveling at 55-mph in the #2 lane when the Maverick abruptly started screeching the tires and dragging behind our motorhome. I was able to safely get to the right shoulder within about 100-yards. We were 18-miles into the 104-mile journey to our home from the RV park in San Dimas. (Level ground.) I then got in the Maverick, placed my foot on the brake, started it and shifted to Park to take it out of Neutral Tow Mode. (It started right up)?I then received an error message on the display “Electronic Parking Brake needs servicing” I then unhooked the Maverick from the motorhome and successfully backed it up 50-yards along the shoulder and then drove it forward, the drive train seemed to be fine. At that point I decided to hobble home with my wife driving the Maverick, following behind the motorhome… when I located the next convenient offramp we pulled over to a side street where I drove the Maverick about 2-miles just to verify that it was drivable (other than the flat spots on the front tires.) I know that the EPB activates the rear brakes when stopped, however there aren’t any distinguishable flat spots on the rear tires. I understand that the EPB activates the hydraulic system when activated while in motion. This leads me to believe that the EPB activated on the freeway, causing the malfunction. When we safely returned home I connected the Maverick to the RV and flat towed for 5-miles without any problems. (Appx. 3:00pm) Other Possibility Possibly Neutral Tow Mode disengaged causing the drivetrain to lock up? But it was still in Neutral Tow Mode when I got in the vehicle to start it after the braking incident, and the vehicle doesn’t seemed to have drive train damage. (It drove the remaining 85-miles home without issue.) BlueOx Towing Setup (we have towed for 5,000 miles without issue) and BlueOx Patriot 3 supplemental brake system. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.

I got out of my truck this morning once I arrived at work and the parking brake function unavailable message came on. I got back in and started the vehicle and Parking Brake Unavailable, Advanced Trac unavailable, Hill Descent Assist unavailable, ABS unavailable, and Forward Collision/ Lane-Keeping System unavailable messages were all on dash. Attempted to take my truck to Ford of Murfreesboro as there is a recall that is out on this issue for some 2025 Maverick EcoBoost trucks, even though it doesn't show up on my VIN, all symptoms on the recall I am experiencing. Ford of Murfreesboro service personnel was rude from the start and when I told them I didn't have an appointment, but feel like this is a safety concern they were quick to tell me it would be over a week before they could even look at it, and even if I had an appointment, it wouldn't be looked at for a week. Worst experience I have ever had with a dealership, and I will be an advocate that people DO NOT bring their vehicle to Ford of Murfreesboro if they want to actually be taken care of if their vehicle has any issues.

2025 FORD MAVERICK HYBRID- Weiser, ID
Shortly after purchase, my 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD experienced a sudden and severe electrical burning or melting odor while driving at freeway speed (approximately 75 mph). The odor was extremely strong and clearly coming from my vehicle. At the same time, the vehicle produced a loud, continuous whirring or growling noise and experienced a sudden loss of power, as if under heavy load or braking. I exited the freeway as soon as safely possible. No visible smoke or fire was observed, but the odor raised serious concern for overheating electrical or hybrid drivetrain components Since the initial incident, the vehicle has experienced multiple similar but less severe events, including intermittent electrical odors, abnormal hybrid noises, hesitation or lag when switching between electric and gasoline operation, and a significant and permanent reduction in fuel economy. The vehicle has been taken to a Ford dealership multiple times for inspection. I requested inspection for signs of overheating or electrical damage. No diagnostic trouble codes were found and the vehicle was returned without repair. I am concerned this condition may involve overheating or failure of hybrid or electrical drivetrain components, such as the inverter, electric motor, or wiring, which may not immediately trigger diagnostic trouble codes but could pose a safety risk. I am also aware of other 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid owners reporting similar electrical odors, abnormal hybrid noises, and power loss symptoms in public owner forums, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. I am submitting this complaint to document a potential safety-related defect involving overheating or electrical failure in the hybrid drivetrain system.

Front driver airbag did not deploy. Vehicle has been totaled and may not be available for inspection. Driver seatbelt tightened requiring an X-ray due to chest pains. Ford has ignored complaint. Unsure if police or insurance inspected though both questioned the airbag not deploying.

Pre-collision system became unavailable. System reported camera obstruction, but windshield was clear. Similar to issues in August 2025. August issue was temporary fixed via software update and reset at dealership. Suspect recurring software or physical issue with safety equipment.

In the first week with only 107 miles, the brakes failed 3 times at very low speeds. Once while backing out and no brakes at all. 2 days later while turning a corner in a parking light they totally failed and I just missed hitting a car. And the 3rd time when I was trying driving out of the Ford dealership they failed and I hit the dealership truck and damaged both vehicles. They didn’t believe me until I took it to the garage and parked it. Then they started it up it had no brakes.

2025 2.0l Maverick 8f-35 auto trans. on cold start after sitting overnight transmission hesitates to engage and/or shifts harshly on 1st drive of the day so far. Most noticeable on 1-2 upshift. Feels like engine rpm flares or transmission skips before changing gear. Conditions repeat almost daily on first drive from cold start. I am concerned about long-term transmission damage and safety when pulling into traffic. I'm aware this and other issues have been acknowledged by Ford in prior TSBs-the same 8f-35 transmission has rough shifting in 2022-2024 documented by programs like 22B38 and 25-2127. Dealer stated after visit that no problem found and had "never heard of a Maverick doing this". there is under 700 miles on the vehicle.
