    On [XXX], I acquired the vehicle with an initial estimate of 6 miles on it. However, within just 1.5 days of ownership, I encountered a significant issue that has left my family and me in a state of distress. On [XXX], while heading into DC for a holiday event at Nationals Stadium with my husband and three small children, the car suddenly displayed a warning message urging me to "Stop Safely Now” with a turtle on it. Subsequently, the vehicle became unresponsive, leaving us stranded on a bridge with no shoulder. With limited knowledge of the car's functions, we attempted to troubleshoot, but to no avail. This is our first time ever going into DC. Given the urgency of the situation and the safety of my family, we called for a tow truck, which took an extended 1.5-2 hours to locate us due to the challenging location on the bridge. We even sought assistance from the local police to ensure our safety while waiting for the tow truck. Once at the charging station, our efforts to resolve the issue were in vain. Adding to our predicament, we found ourselves unable to access the vehicle, leaving us exposed to the elements on a [XXX]. With no other viable options, we had to call for a second tow truck, resulting in additional expenses. As of January 17, the car has been at the dealership since December 24, and we have yet to receive any updates on the resolution or an estimated time of completion. This situation had disrupted our holiday plans, causing distress to my family, especially the children, who were looking forward to Christmas traditions and festivities.     After a few days in garage attempted to drive out where first upon engaging drive selection, releasing brake pedal, and slight throttle, a clunk and jerk launch occurred. With each subsequent wheel rotation there was a scraping sound synchronized with a torque dip in the propulsion. drove 1-2 blocks up street up to ~5 MPH and this symptom followed exact with speed. Stopped car, tried reverse a block, same thing, surging like propulsion with apparent torque dips in sync with speed. Repeated in drive, then reverse a few times, then parked back in garage to be towed into dealer. I put masking tape on steering wheel AND on Windshield saying not to drive over 2MPH to witness the symptoms. Upon receipt at dealer, was told symptom was then repeated, therefore car would be held for a while as it would need to be torn down and analyzed to find the cause. After 3 weeks, told not yet finding the cause, we discussed possibility of brakes where they agreed and was to pull them apart to inspect. Never did. Now 4 weeks later, still at dealer, telling me they cannot repeat the effect but that drove it around. I told speed may have wiped it away, this 2nd time it was towed in for this. I consider this a safety / drivability issue and want it noted, (And fixed of course).

    When driving, sometimes a “Drive Mode Unavailable” message comes up on the infotainment. Drive modes in the MachE contribute to deceleration, one pedal driving, and throttle mapping, and switching abruptly from one to another without input from the driver is a safety issue as it can instantaneously change the deceleration or acceleration rate of the vehicle. This is a known bug that’s been around for years and still no fix for it.

    The contact owns a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, a MIL warning illuminated, with the message “Immediate Loss of Power” displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off and the battery was drained. The contact stated that the vehicle stopped and independently shifted to park(P). The contact stated that the hazard lights were not able to be activated. The contact towed the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high voltage battery contact had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V687000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

    The vehicle regularly, and at random times, will drop out of the chosen drive setting and go to the default "Engage" mid-level setting. This changes the driving dynamics, such as pedal pressure required to move the car, and the sensitivity of the steering. If the driver was in "Unbridle", for example, the car will immediately lose speed and steering sensitivity, while if the driver was in "Whisper", the car will lurch forward. This has happened at city speeds, highway speeds, and even while at a stop in a line of cars. The stop is especially dangerous, as 1-pedal drivers would expect the car to be fully stopped, but it still lurches forward towards people or other cars. Temperature of the engine and battery does not seem to be a factor, as this happens in all conditions. It appears to be a dangerous software error.

    I have attached a letter to this email that ford recently sent me for my 2023 and 2022 mustang mach e. The one attached here is for the 2023 one. Supposedly software is supposed to fix a burning or melting of the charge port pins. I am not sure one of my cars looks like it may be arched but this letter from ford is ridiculous. I request a recall to inspect all charge port pins in all 2023 and 2022 mustang mach e's. I also request since ford is known for trying to use software to update electrical parts that may arc (I.E the battery control module) that a separate investigation be opened to this matter. There is currently no recall for this and I have a concern for both my vehicles now if arching can take place. Furthermore I have had two charging cables burn up on my 2022 mustang mach e Vin number [XXX] but thats besides the point. Point is there is no recall to something that software not installed that doesn't have a transfer function that predicts the charging port pin/terminal temperature. This seems like basic engineer electronics that should have been designed from the beginning to do this. With all the electrical issues these cars have I also question the entire design. More questions to follow are is this software not being installed on my car damaging my charging cable? (I.e why i had two get fried already and possibly have a third i just have not had time to take the third cable in yet) Also why are we not getting our cars inspected in a recall? If this software doesn't monitor the charging pin port/terminal temperature what if 10,000's of vehicles have arched terminal pins in them? We would never know if not been inspected.     My vehicle lost power when I was accelerating onto a highway. The car would not go over 35 mph all the way home. There was no warning light until after I attempted to accelerate and was not able to. Ford is saying it’s only 2022 models, but I have a 2023.

    While going through the car wash the cover, that covers the charging port opened. The plunger that locks the cover in place was broken off. I contacted Ford to see if this was something that would be covered under warranty and they stated no. When looking on forums, it is a common issue and the Ford representative suggested that I place “painters tape” over the cover when using a car wash. There is no guidance on this and the manual and no direction to do. This is given when purchasing the vehicle. This creates a major safety hazard as high pressure water and soap can get into the charging port. They were unwilling to provide any support on getting this repaired and stated it was not a manufacture defect.

    VIN # [XXX] have turned up is if I start my new 2023 mustang Mach-e at home without anyone in the rear seats. When I pick up children, it does not recognize. They are now in the rear seats i.e. seatbelt warnings. Our children picked up from daycare left in a hot car, so what I’m saying in a nutshell is once I leave the residence with only me in the vehicle, and I add additional passengers the seat monitors do not detect anyone being in the rear seat until the seatbelt is fastened, if the seatbelt is not fastened, it has no clue in the rear of the car which is annoying because it constantly asked me to check the backseat, but it only does this if someone has been in the car when it was started originally before it left its origin destination This is a huge issue and should be reported to the NTSB INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

    While charging at a DC Fast Charging station, my vehicle reported "High Voltage" Battery problem. So I disconnected from the charger and started driving home. While driving I got “Stop Safely Now” message on the dashboard. I could hardly pull over to the shoulder. The car immediately went dead as soon as I stopped. I was lucky to be on a road with no traffic else this could have been a disaster.
