2021 FOREST RIVER ROCKWOOD- Knoxville, TN
The motors on the Dometic 9200 RV Awnings are failing. The motors do not have enough torque to effectively operate the awnings. When campers are caught off guard at campsites it is difficult to secure the awning and prevent it from opening during interstate driving. I've contacted Dometic manufacturing, and they tell me the 3316605-001 motor has been replaced with a 3317084.000U. They do not have any motors in stock and recommended I search for a replacement on-line. I called local supply stores and searched online for motor sources, and they are not available. There is a 6-to-8-week backlog for orders. According to the Forest River blogs, many RV owners are experiencing the same issue. My 2021 Forest River Rockwood 2905S Trailer is equipped with a Dometic MFG 925NR18.301UL and I have to close the Awning manually. I am requesting that a recall be placed on Dometic 9200 awnings, and that the manufacturer upgrade the motor and/or system that will safely and consistently operate the awning.

2022 FOREST RIVER SALEM- Sugar Hill, GA
I have a 2022 Salem FSX170SS. While traveling on our first trip with this vehicle, the fresh water tank fell out of the trailer and dragged on the pavement. I was fortunately traveling through a construction area at low speed and damage was limited to the loss of the tank and underbelly. This same model had a safety recall in 2021 for the very same problem. The remedial action was for the dealer to verify and if necessary correct any installation defects e.g. poorly fitting tank. A cursory examination of the unit quickly revealed that the design is minimal and has near-zero redundancy in the event of a minor installation issue. The weakness presents a clear danger to human injury and death. The fact that I had this problem in 2022 would seem to make it clear that the company's response to this issue is woefully inadequate. I have reported this incident to Transport Canada and there is an open file. An inspector has been to my home to assess the trailer. Because I am not a US resident, I was unable to submit the form (it requires a US address). I therefore used the address of a friend. My actual address is 654 Glen Cedar Cr., Innisfil Ontario Canada L9S2J5.

2021 FOREST RIVER CHEROKEE- Cheyenne, WY
On the morning of August 1st, 2022 we were notified by a neighbor of some damage on our 2021 Artic Wolf 5th wheel. After inspection it appeared that a small fire had occurred earlier in the morning- unknown time and it apparently was contained to the one compartment without spreading. The previous evening the camper was fine. The fire was contained to a specific compartment which housed the water hook-up, cable hook-ups and the motion light. This was reported to our insurance who did an inspection and determined that most likely it was an electrical issue and started with the motion light. Upon discovery of the issue the trailer was unplugged and battery was disconnected. We had gone camping the weekend before the fire happened. Unable to be "recreated". The insurance adjuster inspected it on 8/10/22. No concerns or issues the weekend before. We have been having issues with the light randomly staying on/not turning on etc.
